West End Stripclubs

Following on from the information I posted about the revocation of the Sexual Entertainment Licence (SEV) for the iconic Windmill Theatre strip club, now subject to appeal at the High Court, more interesting information has been revealed that may help their appeal.
Last Tuesday the annual renewal of the SEV for S0phistic4ts S0ho (SS) was listed for a hearing by W3stminster Council due to an objection by the owner of Pl4tinum L4ce (PL). In all the history of West End SEV renewals this was the first time another strip club has objected against a competitors licence renewal. What was even more surprising was that all the other strip club owners in W3stminster were present along with their legal advisers, including Daniel Owide from the Windmill Theatre (WT).
Whilst the initial objection to the SEV met the legal requirements additional 'late' evidence was also requested to be presented by PL. This was objected to straight away by SS as it prejudiced them in preparing a proper defence. Before the committee allowed the late evidence they requested a brief outline to ensure it was pertinent and substantial enough to make an impact, what followed quietened the room.
It was alleged that SS had got some of their own dancers employed by PL who then breached both the club rules and licence conditions probably within the private rooms. It was also alleged that customers were also sent in to gain evidence of breaches.
It was also alleged that websites were hacked.
It was alleged that some evidence may have also come from the owners ex-wife. Similar to when the ex-wife of a security company owner spilled the beans on two west end licensing police who wanted to control the doors of west end clubs/bars. Hell has no fury like a woman scorned.

The late evidence was allowed but the hearing was adjourned for a future hearing. Watch this space. This case may have significant implications in the appeal for the WT.

Unbelievably the renewal of the SEV for PL was also heard last Thursday due to an objection by SS. No great evidence was presented and the SEV was renewed. Seems like war has broken out between West End strip clubs as more annual renewals are subject to objections.

And you only thought it was Babe Channels that complained against each other to the regulators.

Re: West End Stripclubs

Well the sub-committee hearing finally was heard on Wednesday 10th April at Westminster Council. With the expectation that all the allegations made by Platinum Lace against Sophisticats would be revealed in depth and backed up with full evidence it turned out to be a damp squid. The allegations remained allegations and were heavily refuted by Sophiisticats QC and left the committee no choice other than to allow the renewal of Sophisticats SEV.
Whilst I am aware that there is a police investigation into the more serious allegations that will be a long investigation and will only impact if proven. Don't hold your breath.
Yet again the public gallery was full of strip club owners but surprisingly this time from Camden including a licensing officer from Camden Council. Word is that the 3 American female activists have hit all the strip clubs in Camden and they now all face a difficult renewal hearing.
Surprisingly Daniel Owide of The Windmill was not present who was initially hit by the three female activists..
