Buffalo make daring rescue of herd member after two lions attack ...

The predators targeted the young buffalo after it had wandered away from its
herd to feed and sensing an easy meal they stealthily moved in for the kill.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

Realising its mistake too late, the lone buffalo tries desperately to fight off both
lions with its deadly horns as they circle in looking for an opportunity to attack.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

The lions however were still young and unable to quickly kill what they saw as
supper and the stricken buffalo desperately bellows for help from the herd.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

Astonishingly the herd responds and in this extremely rare video footage they
gather together and attack the lions as one as they staged a daring rescue.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

The herd of at least 10 buffalo - one of the deadliest animals in Africa - have
their tails raised in agitation and are snorting their anger at they confront the two lions.

On the first charge the younger lion loses its nerve and releases its hold on the buffalo and
runs for safety in the bush. The lions’ ignominious dethroning happened at the Umlani Bushcamp
in Timbavati Private Nature Reserve in the Kruger National Park in South Africa.

Hilarious moment two Jeep drivers get their own back on an ‘arrogant’ driver for parking across two spaces ...

Bad or inconsiderate parking is a problem that plagues many motorists, and these
two sought to teach one man a lesson when he took up two spaces in a parking lot.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

The two Jeep drivers spot a red Mercedes parked in a slapdash way across two
parking spaces. Despite there being a wealth of other spots available in the car
park, the drivers decide to teach the Mercedes motorist a lesson by blocking him in.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

As the pair of pranksters leave their vehicles, the cameraman remarks 'let's go wait
for the guy to come back' and they hide in bushes to wait to see what the car's owner does.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

They spot him walk back over, and realize it's his car that's blocked. He throws his hands
up in the air in despair and even tries to kick the wheels of the cars, to little effect.

He tries to get his doors open, but realizes he can't open up and shimmy in.
The frustrated motorist is left with no choice but to open his car trunk and crawl in through there.

Feel like the laziest paleontologist ever with these dino mugs ...

Lovingly crafted from quality prehistoric porcelain, each Dino Mug features a finely

fearsome beast you prefer.

Could this be the future of water bottles?

The spherical water blob is made up of gelatinous, edible membranes,
and experts say it could eliminate the need for plastic bottles.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

An edible water bottle, which looks like a cross between a jellyfish and a breast
implant, could be set to change the way we drink forever.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

The biodegradable Ooho! bottle was designed by Royal College of Art and the
Imperial College of London postgraduate Rodrigo Garcia Gonzalez.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

And due to the way it is made, even if you didn't want to eat the bottle, throwing it
away still wouldn't have a negative effect on the environment.

The Ooho! is designed to be peeled like a fruit, with an outer layer keeping the inside clean.
Plus the seaweed-based design is even cheaper to create than a plastic bottle.

'Sky Pool' hangs 500 feet above ground atop Houston tower ...

A Houston high-rise is drawing attention online, thanks to a dizzying video of its
most popular amenity -- a glass-bottom swimming pool on the top floor.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

The residential Market Square Tower posted a video to Facebook showing a swimmer
walking from the main area of the Sky Pool -- on the 42nd floor -- to a 10-foot area
that juts out from the edge of the building and has a transparent floor.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

The bottom of the cantilever pool, 8 inches of plexiglass, makes it appear as though
the swimmer is suspended 500 feet over the ground.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

The tower, designed by Houston's Jackson & Ryan Architects, features 463 units
and opened in November. The designers said the Sky Pool was inspired by a similar
setup in Dubai.

"It's a nice eye-catching amenity to have," Philip Schneidau, CEO of Woodbranch Investments Corp., the building's owner, said last June.

The cat got angry on sheet of paper with an optical illusion and destroyed it ...

Someone makes a mouse on a string, someone drives a laser pointer, and the author
of the video decided to check whether the optical illusion will affect the cat just as it affects people.

But the cat does not know this. Therefore, throughout the video, the animal tries to catch
an annoying object, looks for the victim both on the leaf and under it, because the instincts
prompt him to hunt. As a result, the upset cat scratched and bitten the picture.

Vodka saves British cat after brake fluid poisoning ... Thumb up

Veterinarians in London said a cat that accidentally poisoned herself with brake fluid was saved
by an unusual antidote: vodka.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

The Blue Cross animal hospital in London said 7-year-old cat Princess was brought in by her owner,
Teresa Correira Maria, after the feline was found covered in spilled brake fluid in a garden shed.
Veterinarians said Princess quickly became ill after attempting to clean the chemicals off her fur with her tongue.

The hospital said veterinarians rushed to the nearest liquor store to buy a bottle of high
alcohol content vodka, which they said can counteract the effects of ethylene glycol,
the poisonous chemical in brake fluid, if given to a pet quickly after ingestion.
The vodka was administered to Princess via an IV drip.

These photos aren’t censored, that’s just an object painted with the world’s Blackest Black ...

People are freaking out over a series of photos of people holding something
censored by what looks like a photoshopped black circle.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

Only that’s really just an object painted with Vantablack, the world’s blackest black.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

Developed by UK-based Surrey NanoSystems three years ago, Vantablack has
been fascinating both scientists and artists ever since. This amazing pigment is
composed of a series of microscopic vertical tubes that deflect light between them,
essentially trapping it.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

Vantablack apparently absorbs 99.96 percent of light that hits it, making any three-dimensional
object coated with it look like a black two-dimensional flat surface.

So the object in these photos could literally be anything and you could never tell unless looking it from an angle that reveals its texture and depth.
