Re: International Soccer - General Discussion

Today It´s time for the Champions-League Final 2011

"It´s time to revenge"

FC Barcelona - Manchester United

It´s the third time that both teams are opponents in an European-Cup final (1991 Cup Winners Cup Final ManU. defeats Barca with 2:1 / Champions-League Final 2009 Barca defeats ManU. with 2:0)
Whistle for the start of play is 20:45 CET in Wembley/London (England).
The Referee of that game is from Hungary (Kassai).

Here is a balance sheet of that Euro-League Season from both Teams :

FC Barcelona : 12 Games - 8 Victories - 3 Draws - 1 Defeat - (Goals 28 : 8)

Manchester United : 12 Games - 9 Victories - 3 Draws - 0 Defeats - (Goals 18 : 4)

By the way Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona) leads in the goal scorers list before that final with 11 goals (record Ruud van Nistelrooy 12 goals-Season 2002/03 for Manchester United ) that means that Messi has the chance to break the old record with two goals in todays final (1 goal to draw level with).

As last I hope that we will see an Interesting and highly competitive game this evening.

May the best team win.(ManU) Smile

Re: International Soccer - General Discussion

Sporting Braga won't resist in italian third division, their keeper, Artur, was the third in line at AS Roma some years ago.
That's why Porto looked so magnificent.
Best young talent is Chicharito Hernandez.

Re: International Soccer - General Discussion

Except some obvious features there is a name, I watched him in South America where almost nobody in Europe was talking his name shining even then over there...Now they brought him in this European football arena and he is one of the greatest already...FALCAO. Believe me someone will pay for him massive millions soon. Just how did they play that second half against Villareal after being 0:1 down at halftime finishing 5:1 respectively. That was space football from Porto, ofcourse a lot helped by another giant; HULK. Big big names of this year.

Re: International Soccer - General Discussion

Final Result of the Euro-League Final

FC Porto 1 : 0 Sporting Braga

1:0 Falcao (44.min)

After a very good game that we have seen I think at the end the right Team has won.
For the FC Porto it is the 2nd Euro-League/UEFA Cup win in the Club-History (after 2003) and the 4th European Cup win in the total (they have also won 2 times the Champions League/European Cup of National Champions 1987/2004 - they are also 25 Times National Portuguese Champion - 19 Times Potuguese Cup Winner)

After that Final we have a new record in the goal scorers list for the Euro-League (UEFA Cup/Messe Cup).....the new record holder with 17 goals is Falcao (Columbia/FC Porto).

"The Duel of the unlike neighbours"

FC Porto - Sporting Braga

It Is the first time that Two Teams from Portugal are opponents in an European Cup Final.
Whistle for the start of play is 20:30 CET in Dublin (Ireland).
The Referee of that game is how it could be otherwise from Spain (Velasco Carballo)

Here is a balance sheet of that Euro-League Season from both Teams :

FC Porto : 16 Games - 13 Victories - 1 Draw - 2 Defeats - (Goals 43 : 16)

Sporting Braga* : 18 Games - 9 Victories - 3 Draws - 6 Defeats - (Goals 20 : 20)

By the way Falcao (FC Porto) leads in the goal scorers list before that final with 16 goals and this is a new record (in the Euro-League/UEFA Cup or Messe Cup) he has outbid the old one from Jürgen Klinsmann (Bayer München/Bavaria Munich) with 15 goals from the UEFA Cup Season 95/96 (in this year Bayern München win this UEFA Cup)

*Sp.Braga has played 2 games more than FC Porto this is because Sp.Braga start their European-Cup season in the Champions League (They only finished their group as 3rd) and they have must play the 3rd & 4th qualification round for the Champions League and FC Porto only the 4th qualification round for the Euro-League and that is the reason why Sp.Braga has played 2 games more than their opponent.

At last good luck for both Teams & may the best team win Smile

You've forgotten to mention that Porto is the only undefeated team,in offical matches,in europe this season. Cool
PS: In the portugese football league
