The digital transmission.

Before opening the thread i searched to another same topic, since i didn't find it...

I am guessing why the initial choose of the producers of Eurotic channel television of a digital transmission.

The quality is often bad, when it happens rapidly movements of the camera i see only squares and squares.. it would be expensive to switch on a 'normal' analogic way ?

best regards,

Yep, the digital times aren't the best. Today bad weather in Germany: Always no signal! :-((

My cousin may well move this topic when the alcohol wears off.

It's not a question of cost. It's more a question of availablity. Analogue satellites only have a small number of transponders - IIRC it was 16 per satellite. Even if these were available then many of the satellites have long run out of fuel and are drifting aimlessly in space.

And even if there was space available on the few remaining then there simply would no longer be the user market to make such transmissions a viable proposition.
