HI Guys,
I have lived here in Lydd, Dungeness, for over 35 years It is a very large reclaimed area of shingle, now privately owned!! single storey homes
a lot of them very old converted Railway stock... It is mainly a fishing beach now, there is also an ugly Nuclear power station looming on the horizon!!
there is cafe, at the Miniture Railway Station . also a pub. both serving excellent meals!! the old Lighthouse is an added attraction many people visit this
area, especially during the summer months!!....Beach fishing is going on 12 months of the year!!
It is not really a tourist area. but the Little railway brings a lot of visitors to see this special reclaimed land
A few TV programmes have been made there, also music videos!! A Bird Reserve is an added attraction!!
Families who live here Own their own Fishing Boats, launched from the beach, they are also Life Boat crew, There is a modern Life Boat Station which guards
the English Channel!!....Just an insight of my little World!! As I Like to see It!!......
