Shark from San Antonio Aquarium returned after thieves are caught on video using baby stroller to carry animal ...

LEON VALLEY, Texas - Texas authorities found a shark on Monday that was stolen from
the San Antonio Aquarium by three suspects who concealed the animal in a stroller.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

According to the Leon Valley Police Department, a male suspect reached into the tank and
removed a gray horn shark from an exhibit. The incident reportedly happened Saturday
around 2:15 p.m. Two people have since confessed to the crime. The shark is about two feet
long. "It's absolutely insane," said aquarium owner Ammon Covino. "They grabbed the shark right out of the tank."

Covino said the suspects entered near the gift shop and walked all the way through the aquarium
towards the exhibits near the front entrance. They waited for an employee to turn his back and then
grabbed the shark with a net they brought.

After grabbing the shark, the suspects poured out a bleach solution into the aquarium's water filtration
system and used the bucket to help transport the shark in the stroller, according to a press release from the aquarium.

Whale protects diver from nearby shark ...

This is the heart-stopping moment when a giant, 50,000-pound humpback whale took it upon itself to
push an unsuspecting snorkeler through the water, looking to protect her from a nearby SHARK.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

The stunning video and images Nan Hauser and her team were able to capture - including point-of-view
footage - show how the whale pushed whale biologist Nan with his head and his mouth, tucked her under
its pectoral fin - even lifted the biologist out of the water on one occasion.

The moment, Nan, 63, said, is perhaps proof of whale's intuitive nature to protect other species
of animal - including humans - something she believes has never been captured on film, and
intuition the biologist compared to firemen being willing to rush into a house on fire to help save the lives of those they do not know.

For one duck swim 76 ducklings ...

A female duck in Minnesota has about six dozen ducklings in her care, a remarkable image that an amateur wildlife photographer captured on a recent trip to Lake Bemidji,
about 150 miles northwest of Duluth, Minn. “It was mind blowing,” the photographer, Brent Cizek, said in an interview. “I didn’t know that a duck could care for that many chicks.”

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

It’s not unusual to see many ducklings gathered together. Some 20 or 30 have been reported with a single hen. But 70-plus?
“It’s an extraordinary sighting,” said Richard O. Prum, an ornithologist at Yale University.

Experts say the photo, which has been shared among bird conservationists and featured on the National Audubon Society’s website, offers an extreme example of a somewhat
common phenomenon in nature. Here’s a look at the story — and the science — behind the striking image.

Large “Mythological” fire bird spotted near Yellowstone ...

A strange colorful bird has been spotted on the Grand Teton National Park live webcam just days after a
highly popular area near Jenny Lake in Grand Teton National Park located near the Yellowstone National
Park has been closed to the public for the immediate future due to concerns over expanding cracks and
fissures in a large rock formation.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

While Yellowstone seems to be in a perpetual state of unrest with its Steamboat geyser that has erupted
for the 11th time since March and now the expanding cracks and fissures at the Grand Teton National Park
the appearance of this colorful bird that resembles the mythological fire bird is at least odd.

The fire bird also called as a phoenix is a sacred fire bird found in the mythologies of many
cultures and described as a large magical glowing bird with majestic plumage that glows
brightly emitting red, orange, and yellow light, like a bonfire that is just past the turbulent flame.

The fire bird can be seen at around the 2.08 mark in the video and according to the ancient
legend the fire bird comes from a faraway land which is both a blessing and a bringer of doom.

Witches are said to have magical powers, especially evil ones and are often depicted wearing
black cloaks, riding broomsticks. In ancient history, the term was not exclusively negative
and they were considered capable of both harming and healing.

"Oh my God, that looks just like a dead witch," one comment read.
Another added: "Could be some kind of alien."
And a third claimed: "Unbelievable. Looks like a witch to me."

The loneliest man in the world: Last known survivor of Amazonian tribe killed by farmers is captured on camera after 22 years of living alone in the jungle ...

Captivating footage has emerged of the last known survivor of an Amazonian tribe who has wandered the
rainforest alone for 22 years - after the rest of his people were wiped out by murderous land-grabbing cattle
ranchers two decades ago.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

The half-naked man in his fifties uses an axe to chop down a tree in the footage taken by Brazilian government
officials in the remote state of Rondonia. It is thought that he managed to survive when farmers and land
grabbers killed and expelled indigenous Amazonians throughout the 1970s and 1980s.

'After the last farmer attack in late 1995, the group that was probably already small – from reports, the local staff
believed [it] to be six people – became one person. The guilty were never punished.' Funai has a strict policy of
leaving isolated groups in the region alone, but they have monitored his activity from a distance since he was first spotted in 1996.

Experts first discovered him in the jungle in 1996 and his face was only filmed for the first time in 1998.
Aged in his 50s, he is thought to have lived alone there for the past 22 years using bow and arrow to hunt.

Brit couple buy locked safe at auction for £1,500 – what they find inside is amazing ...

YouTube star Tom Stanniland and his girlfriend Moon are well known on the video-sharing platform
under the name [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] for their crazy stunts. Their videos often feature Tom taking on extreme 24-hour
challenges, such as mailing himself across the country in a cardboard box. But this time they took
things one step further – purchasing a safe from an auction for £1,500 and breaking into it.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

The footage then shows the moment they took the box to a secure location and used a number of power
tools to gain access. During the process, Tom even manages to bust an angle grinder, but it was worth
the effort in the end.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

After hours of hacking away, he finally breaks the thick metal walls to get a peek inside. He starts off
uncovering some fairly usual bits with some old foreign bank notes, documents and letters. Things then
step up a notch when he spots an old engagement ring in a small bag.

But what he uncovers right at the bottom of the safe is truly amazing – a huge diamond and three solid bars of gold.
As he pulls the treasure out, Moon cannot contain her excitement and the pair celebrate their win. [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig]

New hope for world's rarest feline with discovery of two Scottish wildcat kittens.

The world's rarest cat has received an unexpected population boost after two orphaned kittens were discovered in Scotland.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

Just 35 Scottish wildcats were thought to remain in the wild in Britain, and the sub-species is in danger of dying out
because the animals often breed with feral domesticated cats, creating hybrids.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

But the conservation group Wildcat Haven has rescued two weak and dehydrated kittens which were spotted and
photographed by a member of the public in the east highlands.

It is likely the pair would not have survived on their own without their mother, and they were
edging closer to a road where they could have been hit by traffic.

Some monkeys in Panama may have just stumbled into the Stone Age ...

Another non-human primate has entered the Stone Age - the fourth type known to have done so. A population of white-faced
capuchins living on a Panamanian island routinely use stones to smash open nuts and shellfish. Other nearby populations
don't use stone tools, which might suggest that primates - perhaps including our ancestors - stumble into the Stone Age by chance.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

Chimpanzees in West Africa, macaques in Thailand and several species of tufted capuchin monkey living in South America
use stone tools to access food. Brendan Barrett at the Max Planck Institute for Ornithology in Radolfzell, Germany, and his
colleagues have now discovered that a species of non-tufted, slender-bodied capuchin also uses stone tools

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

Camera traps showed that male capuchins in one corner of JicarÓn Island use stone tools to crack open coconuts, crabs and snails.

Capuchins elsewhere on JicaroÓn don't use stone tools, and neither do those on nearby islands.
