Narain Karthikeyan : HRT F1 Team : 1:20.886 + 5.140 laps 10 Good to see Felipe infront of Alonso for ones Short Comment of 2nd practice session : Jenson Button was quickest in Thursday afternoon practice for the Monaco Grand Prix, as all the leading positions were set in 15 minutes of early dry running before showers intervened. All the teams were expecting rain to feature in practice two, which meant a rush of early runs prior to the first precipitation arriving a quarter of an hour in. By that time, Button's McLaren was on top with a lap in 1m15.746s, 0.392 seconds clear of second-placed Romain Grosjean's Lotus. The Ferraris of Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso were next up, with Barcelona winner Pastor Maldonado completing the top five for Williams. Championship leader Sebastian Vettel's Red Bull was back in 10th. The rain did briefly ease around the half-hour mark, encouraging a few drivers to come back out on slicks, but conditions were far from good enough for quick times, and a second shower came soon after. Although the track dried out again towards the end, even with nearly the full field on the circuit at times, a truly dry line never emerged. Despite the slippery conditions, everyone managed to avoid the barriers. There were plenty of trips down escape roads, with everyone managing to continue except Heikki Kovalainen, who could not get his Caterham's reverse gear to cooperate after sliding off at Mirabeau. The race that all pilots want to win. The first Monaco Grand Prix was held in 1929. It is one of the oldest races and on this track were born some of the most important legends of Formula One(1984 Ayrton Senna), but for someone this circuit is too narrow, too tight for anything other than a lengthy procession. For me absolutely no. This is a legendary circuit, very difficult for the pilots. Every error is punished by the barriers and guardrails lining the track. Even the most famous pilots have made mistakes at Montecarlo. This circuit does not forgive anyone. Over the years the track has changed little. The nouvelle chicane after the tunnel. The chicane of swimming pool after the tabac corner. The Rascasse and Antony Noghes curves, instead of Gasometer hairpin. The entire first part is not changed: Saint Devote, Beaurivage, Massenet, Mirabeau, the tight hairpin of Grand Hotel (formerly Loews and Old Station), and the double right-hander called Portier, are always the same. I have seen many memorable races at this track. A few weeks ago I reviewed on television the whole Grand Prix of 1981. A fantastic victory of Gilles Villeneuve. Here overtaking is truly problematic and perhaps only the curve of St. Devote offers a small chance. The overall speeds are low and so the most important thing for the cars is generate downforce and the low-speed handling. This race has the slowest average speed of all the circuits. DRS: only one zone, along the start-finish straight during the race; while is always banned in the tunnel. Brake demand: high. Downforce Level: very high. Tyre wear: Low. Pirelli tires for this race will be soft (prime, yellow) and supersoft (option, red) never used in this season. The tires have narrow windows of performance and it is very important(perhaps too much) to use them with care. The performance of the Pirelli tyres appears to be so linked to weather conditions and also small changes in track temperature have a large effect. Winners, impossible to forget: Ayrton Senna: 6 wins; 5 pole position; 8 times on podium in only 10 edition (1984-1993).

Williams thankful to rivals for help with garage fire in Spain Williams chief operations engineer Mark Gillan has offered his thanks to rival teams who reacted so quickly to the fire in its pit garage after the Spanish Grand Prix. A major fire broke out in the garage shortly after a team photo was taken in celebration of the first Williams victory since 2004. But prompt action from crew members from nearby teams, including Force India and Caterham, ensured that the damage was limited. "On behalf of Williams, I'd like to thank all of the team members from other teams for their helped during the fire," Gillan sayd. "We were overwhelmed by the support. It was really impressive. "Williams would like to say thanks to the teams, the FIA, FOM and all of those who came to help. It was a serious issue and I am very grateful indeed. "What happened after a great result is very disappointing, but things were limited by the fast response of our team and everyone who helped." Gillan confirmed that Williams has lost a large amount of equipment in the fire. But despite this he has no doubts that the team will be fully operational in time for next week's Monaco Grand Prix both in terms of equipment and crew. "We had a lot of damage and we have lost a lot of equipment, including IT equipment," said Gillan. "Over the next couple of days we will be looking at where we are parts-wise. "We will have everything we need to run operationally at Monaco, but we may be missing a few of the extras because obviously we don't carry a complete set of spares for everything." Initial inspections of Bruno Senna's car, which was in the garage when the fire erupted as it had not finished the race, suggest that the chassis is undamaged. However, Williams will not be certain of that until it has examined the car more closely back at its Grove base. Two further Williams team members have been released from hospital, the team confirms The Williams F1 team has confirmed that a further two team members have been released from hospital and have returned home after being treated for smoke inhalation following its pit garage fire at the Spanish Grand Prix. One member of the team, who suffered burns in the incident, remains in hospital in Spain but is expected to return to the UK for further treatment within the next 48 hours. A statement from Williams reported that investigations into the cause of the fire are still on-going. Team principal Sir Frank Williams said he was pleased to have been able to welcome the majority of the team back to the factory on Monday. "I was pleased to welcome back to the factory the majority of our team this morning. One of our people remains in Spain for further medical assistance, but we are all looking forward to his imminent return," Williams said. "Everyone at Williams F1 is extremely relieved that this event was contained as quickly as it was and the damage which occurred was, relatively speaking, limited in its nature. "While the incident was unexpected and definitely most undesirable, it has demonstrated the genuine cohesiveness, camaraderie and spirit of co-operation that exists within the Formula One paddock.
