Tito Vilanova is stepping down as Barcelona's coach following a recurrence of throat cancer, just a month before Lionel Messi and his teammates begin the defense of their Spanish league title.
Club president Sandro Rosell told a hurriedly called news conference at Barcelona's training facility on Friday that Vilanova will be unable to stay on as coach while he gets treatment. Rosell said that a new head coach would be named next week and that Barcelona was canceling its first friendly of the preseason, scheduled to be played in Poland on Saturday against Lechia Gdansk. Perhaps is "the man with the neck leaning" one of the most famous sons of my hometown... Bernhard Carl "Bert" Trautmann  ...in any case, he is for me the proof that sport can overcome political differences. As a German soldier and prisoner of war only a few years after World War 2 to become England's Footballer of the Year, is for me one of the most beautiful signs of reconciliation! some will remember him because he stayed in England after some years in a prisoer-of-war camp and made more than 500 matches for Man City as the goalkeeper. he's the german goalie who won the FA Cup in 1956 for City although he played at the end of the match with a broken neck. he was a quite popular german in England in the 50's and so he was one of a very few. Tribunal Arbitral du Sport (TAS) in Lausanne has suspended Fenerbahce ban.
FENERBAHÇE SK & BESIKTAS JK V. UEFA Lausanne, 17 July 2013 - The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has registered today an appeal filed by Fenerbahçe SK and a request for provisional measures filed by Besiktas JK against UEFA in relation to the decisions taken by the UEFA Appeal Body on 10 and 11 July 2013, pursuant to which Fenerbahçe SK was excluded from participating in the next two UEFA club competitions it qualifies for, including the 2013/14 UEFA Champions League, and Besiktas JK was declared ineligible to participate in the 2013/14 UEFA Europa League. Together with its appeal, Fenerbahçe SK filed a request for a stay of the challenged decision. |

Monaco FC is going to rejoin the dynamic duo from Porto, after signing Redamel Falcao, brazilian striker Hulk is going to sign. He currently plays in Zenit St. Petersburg but he argued with italian coach Luciano Spalletti.
If Hulk will move to Monaco, italo-argentinian striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo (who will leave AS Roma for sure) will sign Zenit. Paris Saint Germain has also signed left back defender Lucas Digne from FC Lille (15 millions), it is just a matter of time for Marcos Aoás Corrêa "Marquinhos" from AS Roma (35 millions). I wonder if UEFA Chairman Michel Platini will do domething about "Financial Fair Play" issue, since clubs most involved are just french ones. Turkish clubs Besiktas and Fenerbahce (both from Istanbul) have been banned from UEFA competitions. |

It's easy, every issue is an excuse for german media to attack Berlusconi, even when he has nothing to do.
Sure you know Berlusconi faced german economic policy in UE, and sure you know how he named Cancelor Merkel. It's not a matter of lifestyle, as I have already told since AC Milan has Mario Balotelli (Cassano, Ibrahimovic and Ronaldinho in the past), and more, there is also Mbaye Niang, who was stopped by police because he drove a car without licence (he still was a minor) and showed the one of a teammate (Bakaye Traorè). And he was just fired from french national team because he escaped the U.21 seclusion with some teammates to go to disco. And he lost the chance to get U.20 World Champion. And of course not a matter of hairstyle, since there are not only Boateng, Balotelli and Niang, but also Stephan El Shaarawy. That AC Milan does not like Boateng's lifestyle is the version of the german media. I wonder also a little, because I know that Milan is not afraid to work with awkward players.  Boateng also would like to fulfill his contract and Milan demands least 15 million € as a transfer sum. It sounds not to me as if they absolutely want to lose him.

This is the only reason. Nothing to do about lifestyle, since AC Milan has Mario Balotelli in roster and in the past there was even Antonio Cassano. And not to forget AC Milan has fully supported Boateng in his anti-racism campaign. SSC Napoli has signed spanish defender Raul Albiol from Real Madrid. AS Roma has signed ducth midfield Kevin Strootman from PSV Eindhoven. |
