THIAGO SUFFERS KNEE INJURY

Munich - FC Bayern München midfielder Thiago Alcantara has suffered a knee injury in the champions' 3-3 draw with 1899 Hoffenheim, almost certainly ruling him out of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg against Manchester United FC.
The summer-signing from FC Barcelona suffered a partial tear to the medial ligament in his left knee in Saturday's draw with the Sinsheim club and was replaced by captain Philipp Lahm after 25 minutes. It is not yet known how long the 22-year-old will be sidelined for, but the Spaniard is unlikely to be fit for Tuesday's clash with the English Premier League Champions at Old Trafford.

Re: International Soccer - General Discussion

Guus Hiddink will be again Netherland's coach after the World Cup, replacing Louis Van Gaal.
Former Chelsea, Russia, Australia and Turkey coach will bring with him in his staff former players
Danny Blind and Ruud Van Nistelrooy; Hiddink already coached the National team from 1995 till 1998.

Re: International Soccer - General Discussion

I agree on what you said Dr., often it's chairman or players fault and sacking the coach is a very bad move but in this case Mazzarri and Guidolin are the best (or probably the worst) expression of the italian catenaccio, they think only not to lose the match. I like the german football much more and i hope to see soon in my country some better managers with a modern view on football.

Re: International Soccer - General Discussion

Round 30 of the 2013/14 Serie A season v Torino, marked the 700th appearance for Francesco Totti for Roma (in all competitions).

Totti has become accustomed to breaking records and setting milestones throughout his illustrious career, and this latest achievement is another to remember.

He is already Roma’s record appearance holder and record goalscorer by quite a distance, as well as being second and closing on Serie A’s all-time goalscoring list, but in terms of appearances for club he comes in at sixth, and will surely move up to forth soon enough:

Re: International Soccer - General Discussion

Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes suffered, during the match against Celta de Vigo, the breaking of the crossed
ligament of his right knee SadSad
Now he will be operated and his stop will be at least 6 months, so no chances to see him in the World Cup this summer
and probably no chances to see him again playing in Barcelona, since his contract will end on June 30th.
Get well soon, Victor Thumb upThumb up
