Finals Results : Gentlemen' s Singles : Roger Federer (3) won his 93rd ATP tournament in career (19th Grand Slam and 8th Wimbledon), defeating Marin Cilic (7) 6-3, 6-1, 6-4 after 1h 41' First set was balanced until 2-2, then the Swiss champion broke the Croatian, closing the set 6-3 with another break after 37'; in second set Federer went immediately 3-0, then broke again Cilic in sixth game, closing the set 6-1 after 25', with Cilic receiving a medical time-out for a left foot problem; third set was balanced until 3-3, when King Roger made the deciding break, closing the match 6-4 at the second match-point with an ace and winning the 8th Wimbledon of his career (for the first time without losing a single set), while Cilic lost his first Slam final (after his success in 2014 US Open). Semifinals & Finals Results : Ladies' Singles Final : Garbine Muguruza (14) won her fourth WTA tournament in career (second Grand Slam and first on grass), defeating Venus Williams (10) 7-5, 6-0 after 1h 17' First set was very balanced, with one break-point saved by each one of the players, then, on 5-4 Williams, the Spanish saved two consecutive set-points and broke the American the next game, winning 7-5 the set after 52'; in second set Venus was totally at the mercy of her opponent, who easily went 5-0, closing the match at the third match-point and winning the second Grand Slam title of her career (after 2016 Roland Garros, defeating Venus' sister Serena), while Venus failed to win for the 6th time the Championships.
