if you want to create an install media you have to unpack the data file 'installesd.dmg' inside the app (Install OS X Mavericks.app/Contents/SharedSupport) and to burn with a program of your choice

I talked with a few others who have installed it with no issues and just seems it did not like me  It should be ok but as i said, really do make a backup first of all important things. |

Apple announced today its new operating system Mavericks, a new line of MacBook Airs and new MacPro. The tech giant made the announcement at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco. Apple's CEO Tim Cook kicked off the 24th year of WWDC by touting that the event sold out in just 71 seconds. Apple senior vice president of software engineering Craig Federighi announced a name change for its OS X to Mavericks. The new operating system features finder tabs, tags and multiple displays. Finder now has tabs for easier multitasking. Anything can be tagged anywhere in OSX and be found through a search in Finder. Multiple displays makes using more than one screen more intuitive by having the dock appear in the active screen. Federighi touted advanced technologies under the hood that improve battery life: A feature called App Nap directs power to apps that need it and Timer Coalescing monitors the CPU's activity. Apple is deepening the integration between its desktop and mobile software. OS X Mavericks is also getting iCloud Keychain for storing passwords, Calendar update with continuous scrolling and iBooks. Notifications will send push notifications, iMessages and IMS to the desktop. Maps is also coming to OS X Mavericks with features like street maps 3D flyover, POI search, info cards and turn-by-turn directions. "It's really amazing on your big Mac display," Federighi said. OS X Mavericks will be available in the fall. Apple's Phil Schiller took to the stage to announce a new line of MacBook Airs with longer battery life, faster graphics and faster Wi-Fi. The MacBook Air's 11-inch will now have 9-hours of battery life, up from 5-hours, and the 13-inch model will now have 12-hours of battery life, up from 7-hours. The 11-inch model will start at $999 and the 13-inch model will start at $1,099. Shiller also teased a new MacPro built with Intel's next-generation Xeon chip, new generation flash storage and support for 4K display.
