I would argue:
1) smoking makes you look bad, this will only get worse as you start getting yellow fingers and teeth and even worse when you need an oxygen maske cause youre lungs are starting to fail
2) smoking makes you smell bad. So when you go out, you shower, brush your teeth, put on some deodarant, parfume and then you light a cigarette and it was all useless as you will stink up the place.
3) smoking makes you loose your sense of smell, a big part of taste. Apparantly smell also plays a role in finding the perfect partner so .... Big Grin
4) smoking will get you sick and dead, if there is anybody you love or who loves you, you shouldn't take the risk of causing them pain.
5) for the above list of crap you are paying loads of money, in a lifetime enough to buy a very big car or even a small house.

I do not see any valid reason to do smoke, but if it excist I would gladly hear it, still it will not be enough to counterbalance the above list. (Don't bring on the freedom of choice argument, cause you no longer have a choice if you are addicted so in effect you give up your feedom of choice when you smoke.) Having said that it all amounts to very little to someone who is addicted. For those the e cigarette can be an adequate surrogate as Daz describes. I suggest everbody who smokes to either quit or go for the e cig.

I hope nobody feels offended with what I wrote. I think it is a damn shame people get seduced into smoking at a very young age by these ruthless companies who only care about money.

@ Mr_Niceguy, thank you very much for your words. Thumb up
The problem is that I know the theory, but it is difficult to implement it.
Several times I tried to quit several times and have failed. Sad
Maybe your words help me to try again.Thumb up

The option of the E-Cigarret exists, but lately I have read opinions opposite to this class of cigarettes, from what I do not know what to do.

I don't read that much Big Grin i just started to try it, i doubt the tobacco companies would be happy if they lost smokers to this instead, also at least the uk government have not killed it and taxed it yet, but if either want it to die then they will let horror stories be said, me personally i don't think it would work for everyone and yes i've tried most other options that have just reminded me that i want a cig Big Grin

This works for me and sadly not for everyone Smile cheaper than cigs too.

This is another factor to bear in mind, the tobacco companies will turn out to be threatened by something that goes against his interests, since it is an option that, is supposed, it is less harmful.
Logically some will go against others, none will tell the truth, and as always, he will be the user the one that loses, for lack of information objective and truthful.
Unfortunately, we always come to the same place; economic interests are what they do and they undo.

I admit that I smoke for many years.
Many times I tried to quit but have never been lucky enough to get it.
