But for me Juventus need to play a lot better to advance in the competition. |

Italy and Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon was awarded last night in Montecarlo the 2016 International Golden Foot award, a trophy who recognises the best active footballer of the year aged 28 and over and is based on votes by media as well as members of the public; Buffon beat a whole host of star, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Wayne Rooney and is the fourth Italian player to win, after Roberto Baggio, Alessandro Del Piero and Francesco Totti, the first goalkeeper in the history of the prize.

Their last game against Norway was such a pleasure to watch, Well having visited your wonderful Country 8 times I've always had a soft spot for Germany, I can't comment on any of the recent games as I've only really had time to watch my Scotland team ![]() On Saturday night this made for painful viewing, the 1st half wasn't even worth talking about as it resembled something of a non event but when the 2nd Half kicked off I genuinely thought that if anybody was going to make a breakthrough on the scoring front it would be us but after creating so many chances and missing them it was now the turn of Lithuania and to be honest I can't really fault the Scotland defence too much for conceding as Fedor Cernych scored a wonderful goal. All credit however to Scotland for never giving in and that equaliser which James McArthur scored with just a minute to go might in the long run prove to be a very valuable point for us. We should have won the game on the balance of play and we could have snatched a winner in the closing seconds of injury time if hadn't been for their stalwart defence denying us. Next up for us is an away game tomorrow night against Slovakia and if we manage to get full points then this will really put us in with a shout of beating the Auld Enemy to the top spot as next up is the game against them at the world famous Wembley Stadium, a ground made famous for not only its footballing history but also a place where many of the top musical acts have performed there so the place is steeped in history. A game against England is no ordinary game, its a once in a lifetime opportunity to gain bragging rights, sure its a qualifier but it's always been the biggest game in the history of British football as far as I'm concerned. Firstly we need to go there on the back of a decent start to the campaign because I firmly believe a confident Scotland team can get a result at Wembley ![]() |
