What's in a name

This is a member-participation topic. A little fun but do try and stay on topic and who knows we may get a full set.

Speculate on how the girl chose her nick-name. When you answer this post, add another name to the bottom of the reply and the next member will reply etc.

So I will start with 'Sesil'. An unusual name but posibly a tribute to a tennis star from the country,

Next name : Tyra

Re: What's in a name

About Ahat, it's correct the hard rock band (Black Sheep their most famous song) solution, but once she said her nick comes from a semi-precious stone, IIRC the turquoise one (the same as the band, who has been active since the middle 80's).

Silvet is the commercial name of the alluminossilicate, I think good old brokingbull can help us.

Black Silvet is also the name of a bonsai plant.

Next name: Aria

Re: What's in a name

I only know Sylvet (given in capsular form to dogs suffering from hip dysplasia).
Although this might be fitting to the previous post, I don’t expect it to be anywhere near a real answer ;-)

Re: What's in a name

As this topic seems to be dead, I’ll try to revive it:
Ahat (АХАТ) is a Rock/Metal group and as far as I remember Ahat was somehow linked to this band (manager, tour manager???).
Melisa

Re: What's in a name

The name wasn't Megan but Megita, maybe they are variations of a same name, maybe also Megita comes from Margarita (Margherita in italian) and refers to the flower, in Italy Margherita is also the name of traditional pizza (with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese and a basil leaf to have the three colours of italian flag) that was dedicated to Queen Margherita (wife of King Umberto I, killed by an anarchist in 1900).

More, margarita in latin means "pearl", and Margarita is the famous tequila-based cocktail, even though I remember Megita prefers Martini Dry.

Desita is a typical name from that country and is referred to Valley Of The Roses, maybe a variety of this wonderful flower.

Next name: Ahat (once she said where does her nick come from).

P.S. iveco, I've understood you were referring to Megan, but it was requested Megita.

Re: What's in a name

You don`t even asked for this ones but here are the translations:

1.Randa comes from swaheli language(Kenya) and it means "female dancer"(congratulation Randa perfect choice)

2.Megan comes from welsh language and it means "strong girl" could be also another version of Margret(Megan is also a very popular name in my home!)

Kind regards

Re: What's in a name

I want to fill a gap referring Kia.

IMO it's the short form of Kiara which is a transliteration of the Italian name "Chiara". Chiara derives from the Latin word "Klara" which means "clarus"( in English "famous, extraordinary" or "brilliant")

That's accurate for the performances of  Bunny Kia(ra)..

Re: What's in a name

My proposal for Alexa comes from a movie called "CIA Codename:Alexa" that is about a young woman from some eastern Europe country provided with two huge weapons :) and recruited by CIA, starring Lorenzo Lamas (her CIA trainer). (what a movie :))))))))

About Kia, of course if you search this word on Google first 3 pages are referred to Korean car company (and this solution would be correct if Georg was already at ETV at that time :)), on Wikipedia KIA maybe an acronyme of Killed In Action (and this isn't our case), and an interesting occult way, I'llpost the link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kia_(occult)

Next name: Megita

Re: What's in a name

"Alexa" is the short form of Alexandra which means (in Greek) the protectress or the one who's repelling men(!).

Maybe that's why she seems to be so shy sometimes.;-)

Next name: Kia (but not a Korean car factory, please)
