The new fixtures for the English Premier League 2017/18 have now been released - [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig]

Chelsea will begin their defence of the Title at home to Burnley. Newly promoted Newcastle United will host Tottenham and another mouthwatering tie for fellow newcomers Brighton is a home tie against Man City. The last of the promoted teams Huddersfield will play away at Crystal Palace.

I won't be adding the fixtures as of yet to the Premier League Predictor Thread as dates and kick off times will be subject to change for SKY/BT Sports live Coverage.

Re: International Soccer - General Discussion

Thank you for your comments Italianfan, you have now shed further light on the referee, I knew there was something dodgy about him yesterday. Wishing Italy all the best for qualification, I hope both our nations make it to the Russian Finals. God forbid if we have a Scotland v Italy match Play Off game to decide who goes and who doesn't. I fear you might never talk to me again if we emerge as victors lol Big Grin

An Italian view point would be very interesting..........cough cough..Smile

Here I am, well what can I say, the referee of Scotland - England was Italian (Paolo Tagliavento), so I' m not surprised there was something wrong with his direction, probably also English supporters were not happy about him.
Scotland have also my support for Russia 2018, but, as you say, it' s very hard right now, with Slovakia and Slovenia that continue to win, anyway fingers crossed for the Scottish team Thumb up
About Italy, we have to win next September in Spain to qualify without play-offs, and it' s something very very difficult, specially if you think the best Italian team (Juventus) took 7 goals in two Champions League finals against the best Spanish teams (Barça and Real).
Well, we' ll see...SmileSmile

Re: International Soccer - General Discussion

Well what beat us in the end Rallkin123 was the fucking referee, no way was there 4 minutes injury time and also England were awarded a free kick right into our danger end in which they subsequently scored from when the foul should have went the other way. If it hadn't been for the fact I had to work early today I would have been down at the pub with the rest of the lads yesterday watching the game. I'd love to know how many pint glass's were smashed at the point when England scored their equaliser. We really could have done with those 3 points as it would have put us right back into the mix for qualification. We can still do it but its going to be very difficult now. What piss's me off most about Scotland is that we only seem to turn on the big performances for the big games. Its the bread and butter games when we are expected to win and don't which lets us down time and time again Sad

Scottishbloke, your team did you proud and I thought they outplayed England at times. If only you could've held on to the end for what would've been a historic victory against the Auld Enemy. I wish they had won, they deserved toSmileThumb up

Re: International Soccer - General Discussion

The only show in town today just happened to be the battle of Britain, the 2 Auld enemy's fought it out and it ended in a draw. England took the lead with just 20 minutes remaining when Chamberlain fired in a shot from close range my heart literally sunk. It looked like curtains for my nation. Then in the 87th minute Griffiths scored a spectacular free kick to equalise, then in the 90th minute Hampden park went into absolute bedlam as he scored again to put us into the lead and it looked like the unthinkable had just happened. It was going to be our first win over England in Scotland since 1985 and 1999 when we defeated them at the old Wembley Stadium but not to be unfortunately as Kane struck in the 3rd minute of injury time Sad

Not to be but I think my neighbours knew exactly all about it as my roar on both goals Scotland scored must have been heard by anybody within a 5 mile radius Smile

Final Score From Hampden:
Scotland 2
England 2

No not through gritted teeth, my friend. I actually hope you stuff England and you qualify. My Welsh mum and the Irish side of the family would disown me if I supported England and I would never do that. Big Grin
Yes I agree with you about the two sets of fans. Lets hope common sense prevails and the match passes off with out any nasty incidents.SmileThumb up

Re: International Soccer - General Discussion

Thank you Ralkin123, I bet you must have said that through gritted teeth assuming you are English ofcourse Blush This used to be an annual fixture but was cancelled by the Scottish and English FA due to the continuing off field activities. I do believe that the police will form a human chain around the ground, especially in light of some of the past high profile matches involving other teams at Hampden Park, most notably the disgraceful scenes that took place between the Hibs and Rangers fans at last years Scottish Cup Final when a mass pitch invasion took place between the 2 sets of supporters which ofcourse led to mass brawls taking place all over the pitch.

I think especially in light of recent terrorist activities that has taken place within the UK that both sets of supporters need to show an example and promote the togetherness even further. We need to show an example to the world watching that we keep the rivalry friendly and I urge those fans looking to go there simply just to cause trouble to think twice. Aswell as holding my breathe with regards as to how Scotland fares, I am also holding my breath as to the behaviour of the 2 sets of fans.
