As inactive if we consider all those who have just posted a few messages to get VIP status, should not exceed 500 or 600 really active members.
We will all be dead before reaching 200000.

Hmmmm ... I think this thread may be a little premature
We are now sitting at 130777 members, leaving us 69223 short.
Looking back, we hit 100000 members on 15th December 2011, some 408 days ago.
With a linear growth, the target would be hit in 917 days, which would be 1st August 2015.
Since the growth is not linear, it is diminishing and following a more exponential curve, then the calculation is more complex.
Since 70000 members was reached on 1st March 2011, 100000 on 15th December 2011 and 130000 on 13th January 2013 a very rough curve can be estimated.
With elapsed times of 289 and 395 days, things do not look good!
The drop off is considerable and we need in excess of two 30000 increments. With a straight percentage, these next 2 steps would take 539 and 736 days respectively and still leaving us 10000 short.
Based on the above, we are looking at something like four years to reach 200000 members ... a lot can happen in four years
