Re: Relaunch - Questions & Answers

By default signatures are invisible. But you can change that in your profile settings.

Re: Relaunch - Questions & Answers

What happened to the signature?

Re: Relaunch - Questions & Answers

Please note that due to excessive posting of caps along with videos we had to add a new rule:

[hidden link - please register]

Re: Relaunch - Questions & Answers

Please read the [hidden link - please register], especially the following part:

Regarding complaints and rants about eUrotic TV:
Anyone making rants or repeating well-known negative views must also post them on the etv official site and provide a URL link. Otherwise they will be deleted immediately. Even posting on the etv site does not preclude deletion from Liveshow-TV.com under the existing forum rules about repetition.

And please take some time and read them CAREFULLY. Thank you for your understanding.

Unthanking

I'm stupid, so I frequently happen to hit the "THANK" button below a message, when I wanted to click "QUOTE".
Is it possible to "unthank" a message again? If not, please regard it as a "forum feature request". Smile

Re: No delete button for own posts on new forum

The "Delete" button is back, but it's only available for posts you made, not for complete threads.

Re: Relaunch ........

so jack because i am a new moderator and i have made my first comments on this section you try and pick the bones on my comment and try and stir the pot a bit.
i have read some of your old post were you try to be helpful to members but sometimes 3rd or 4th in the cue of answers so it was a waste of time replying in the first place then?

and the question was asked about mods counts as well, so rather than ignore i decided to answer them, and has they was not expecting a reply how does that add to there annoyance.

so far the only negative comments have mainly come from you.

and rather than trying to make yourself look big be more helpful yourself, those tactics work on a school yard but we are not kids anymore most are in there 30s 40s and 50s+.

so be more helpful rather than stamping your feet like a little kid.

because i had some respect for you through some of your old post i kept quiet when you first posted in this section.

and if the weather forecast is correct for the uk i will be wearing shorts today.

No delete button for own posts on new forum

Will there be a delete button for your own posts like in the old forum?

Re: Relaunch ........

I have a suggestion and some food for thought.

We have a case here that a long standing member was obviously upset that his post-count had gone down. A valid question which should be answered with authority. Yet the answer came from a mod who, like it or not, is still in short trousers when it comes to the ways this place works. If he did not know the answer to the question then there was no point in creating more annoyance to the member with his words.

So here is the suggestion. Mods should only interfere in this manner when they can actually answer in an authorative manner. The question was adressed to the site admins and the answer should come from them - as it eventually did.

And now for the food. The post count should have remained as it was. That is the main yardstick for someone's experience in the forums. My question is this. Does the post count also reflect the old board? As I cannot see any way to access those that now. And if you cannot access the posts then the post count should not reflect those posts - the aim to create database integrity.

Now I do not see ANY member trawling through the board attempting to count his posts to see that they agree with the number yet that member is comforted that the count reflects his status.

And one final thought. One crap topic was removed. Yet there existed another previous to that one which used even more database space than the one so removed. So why has that one also not, assumedly been removed considering that very few of the posts in that are now relevant?. But the answer to this question is even more simple. Remove that one and re-index to reflect the post count and suddenly certain members and even current moderators will have very few posts at all. In all, a somewhat irrational and biased approach which could equally have been avoided by leaving the post count alone.

They went down. I lost about a 100 totally unimportant post when the junkjurd was deleted and about 200 when the bug was fixed ...
Bugs make no exception for mods Confused

Re: Relaunch ........

Yasmine, if you have a good technical knowledge about coding and SQL I can tell you the reason why the number of posts displayed in your profile has decreased. Once again, it was a bug in the forum software where the number of posts for each user was not correctly calculated. Of course you will not believe me again, but that's all I can tell you, and if you have sleepless nights because of the decreased post count I cannot help you as well.

The reason for the loss of posts a couple of weeks ago was that I have removed the Junkyard topic so save database space.

Re: Relaunch ........

Sorry for being late with my response as I did not find the time to answer. I must say I didn't receive an adequate response to my questions regarding the posts count on the other hand I see a response complaining on the attitude of the members being uncivilized ! Offence is always a good tactic ! I will just state the following :
1. two month ago the same thing happened and many members didn't understand why their message count was decreased, I apparently lost something like 60-70 message count (like in this case) since then I have posted equally the same posts as i lost bringing the count back to what it was around two month ago. So I really don't understand how can this be a bug ? Now the weird thing that bugged me was how come the moderators didn't lose their count ?
2. As I am only a guest in this site I have no particular rights and the site owners can chose to delete posts as they find fit but I do like some transparency here and say we did remove posts because they were "garbage posts" , had no contribution to the forum etc..
3. I am not going to bother my self and look into the past searching for allegedly missing post but I will flag this for the future.
4. I don't expect an answer ...
