Turkey attempts to prohibit 138 words to register domains on the Internet

Animal, girl, gay, partner, free... and the Turkish equivalent of blonde, skirt, confession, fat, naked, passionate, adult, student... What have all these words in common? They have been banned by the authority of Turkish telecommunications (TIB) and has no longer may be used to register a domain on the Internet.
TIB is not kidding: "your email was threatening "criminal penalties" providers that do not comply with this "obligation".
Days later, before the avalanche of public protests, the TIB said that it was merely an "information circular", but not withdrew.

Hi vogue Smile

Personally, i live in France for years ( the guy who doesn't want to tell how old he is...Big Grin...) and i don't know about what akarsu12 was talking.
I have no restrictions for now and we have just the " Hadopi law " which is not really restrictive ( a story of copyright as usual ).
So perhaps akarsu12 will precise what are those restrictions later .
I obviously agree when you talk about restrictions to come, i find that the world becomes more and more puritan and the religious stuffs don't help.
I try to take fun today and i will see tomorrow... Cool

If you wanna lesson of what is restriction:take a look to France Parliament they try to forbid think, talk and thesis about history. Maybe, someone(s) making a mistake but he/she realize that and does the correct things. Indeed, this is the way of indicating that who is the master (ruler).

Re: Turkey attempts to prohibit 138 words to register domains on the

First of all,I would like to thank you for opening this thread.

Secondly,

Turkey will be the 4th country in the world where this restrictions will be applied. It's really ridiculous...You should hear their excuse "to prevent the children from porn",ok that's not bad but there are already many softwares available for this.

I'm afraid that this is just a beginning of many ridiculous rules that will be applied in the future.I don't like to say this but,we should get ready to live a life like a Persian lives.

If you want to discuss more about it,please send me PM.
