Re: Last Movie You Watched!

A couple of movies here, the first one I have seen before.

This movie always breaks my heart every time I see it, Just finished watching it on Sky Movies. Its such a powerful film and the first movie I genuinely thought captured the horrors of the holocaust. This is also a reminder of just how easy it is for mankind to turn so evil if certain political parties are not kept in check.

It goes without saying Schindler's List scores a 10/10

I was going to watch it last night on my nightshift but if you'll understand it might have been sort of awkward for me to be serving customers with a tear in my eye so I watched this one instead.

Western movies seem to be something of a rarity these days so when this came along it got my pulses racing Big Grin I thought it was a decent movie, not in the same league as the likes of Young Gun but it had enough action scenes to keep me happy Smile

A rare treat in cinema these days - 8/10 Big Grin

Housebound (2014)
Kylie Bucknell is forced to return to the house she grew up in when the court places her on home detention. Her punishment is made all the more unbearable by the fact she has to live there with her mother Miriam - a well-intentioned blabbermouth who's convinced that the house is haunted. Kylie dismisses Miriam's superstitions as nothing more than a distraction from a life occupied by boiled vegetables & small-town gossip. However, when she too becomes privy to unsettling whispers & strange bumps in the night, she begins to wonder whether she's inherited her overactive imagination, or if the house is in fact possessed by a hostile spirit who's less than happy about the new living arrangement. Another good horror/comedy from New Zealand 7/10

Spotlight (2015) - The true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church to its core.

Awesome movie! I won't write up any review as it's best to know as little as possible about this movie. Great performances from all the cast, with a pretty damn disgusting and disturbing story. 8/10 Thumb up

Okay so if you can look past the fact this movie is far too similar to Misery and has been subject to rip off claims and judge it based on how you actually find the film you'll actually really get into this one. I feel somebody has to defend this movie. I watched it to the other night despite it only making a 1 out of 5 rating and was pleasantly surprised as it had me gripped from the word go.

I'll be honest here I've never ever rated Kate Bosworth much as an actress with her awful performance as Lois Lane in Superman Returns still haunting me but in this movie I thought she delivered a truly epic showing and as vilians go I thought she did a good job. I'm going to give this movie 7/10 SmileThumb up

The Big Short (2015) - Four denizens in the world of high-finance predict the credit and housing bubble collapse of the mid-2000s, and decide to take on the big banks for their greed and lack of foresight.

Les Lyonnais (2011)
After growing up in a poor gypsy camp, Edmond Vidal, aka Momon, has retained a sense of family, unfailing loyalty and pride in his origins. Most of all, he has remained friends with Serge Suttel, with whom he first discovered prison life - for stealing cherries. The two of them inevitably got involved in organized crime. The team they formed, the Gang Des Lyonnais, made them the most notorious armed robbers of the early 1970s. Their irresistible rise ended in 1974 with a spectacular arrest. Today, as he nears 60, Momon would like to forget that part of his life. He has found peace by retiring from the "business". But then Serge Suttel, who has disowned nothing of his past, comes back into the picture. Very good french crime thriller Thumb up 7.5/10
