E-Cigerettes

Well if this is not general i don't know what is Tongue

This topic interests me as i recently bought a starter kit with the intention of stopping completely but i know some view it as an alternative to smoking. Which is your choice of course Thumb up my soul purpose is to stop!

Strange but using this my health as improved, sleep ok through the night, my breath may have improved but dare not test this on others just incase Big Grin i have my tastebuds back Cool you get nicotine in it but, no tar or other nice goodies that make you cough or wheeze as soon as you think of being active Cool

I've only been using it for 5 weeks but see a marked improvement, but still with the intention of not replacing this as my new hobby to smoking.

Please feel free to give your views on this topic whether for or against Smile

The difference is WOW! So basically i doubt i will smoke a normal cig again, i settled on menthol but sadly i have not made it to zero nicotine yet but am fighting to get there Smile

Congratulations, Daz, you've really taken a very important step and I feel envious of what you have already achieved.
Your experience is a great help for me to achieve well.
I will try to follow in your footsteps.

I forgot to mention, the tobacco flavour was zero nicotine, so hence it just making me want a cig Cry 11mg is fine for me and still plan to lower it, just need the flavour i can stick to all the way through to zero Smile

I nearly did last week as i runout of flavoured liquid, namely "fruit mix" but had some tobacco flavour liquid on one side, yep using that triggered my brain in to wanting a real cig Blush so, to me this shows why flavours other than tobacco will work Smile

Taking the flavour away but keeping the smoking affect in place results in more chance of quitting, but this is only my view and works for me, taking away the cig taste helps you gradually take away the nicotine Smile

People are different Big Grin

I mainly only vape tobacco flavours now, though I do still vape fruit and desert flavours ones every now and then to change it up. Do I want a cig? Hell no! And I've been Vaping for one year in a months time too Big Grin

Smoking is dead! Vaping is the future Tongue Thumb up

P.s. Daz, if you had a urge to spark one up, maybe you should up your nicotine level again? 18mg is what I use and plan on staying there too Tongue

I want to do it but perhaps I lack a 'push' that decides me to trying it again.
Maybe, if daz it achieves it, this is the motive that I need.
I hope you will obtain it, daz, and I hope that you will keep on giving us news of your progress.Thumb up

kyke, mate. You should get yourself a starter kit. You can find them on popular sites like Amazon. You won't be disappointed!

I got another member off here on e-cigs recently and he now loves them Smile

Give it a try Big Grin

Re: E-Cigerettes

A thing that it is necessary to consider, is that the pure tobacco, in itself, is less addictive than seems.
The tobacco companies are those who add addictive substances without any control, since, in the European Union the employment of additives is not regulated in the tobacco and they can do what they want without risk of sanction.

Re: E-Cigerettes

Now my reply Blush

When it comes to smoking, most think it was peer pressure that makes you start, well i was brought up on snooker world championships, darts championships, f1 cars/rally cars, i think nearly every sporting event was sponsored at some time by a tobacco company, thus the argument that its bad for you did not exist back then or if you said it loud enough a tobacco company would take you to court Confused anyway my point is, smoking was and still is legal, the profits alone to each government through tax prevents it being fully illegal.

If it was illegal then i would not have started in the first place and so attacking people for something thats not illegal is no real argument, next is health issues, granted every smoker will have health issues due to this and a number of other reasons (getting older) the marlboro man died of cancer, the man who officially invented jogging, died of an heart attack while jogging Confused but is seen as good for you, theres probably more but won't go in to it that much, my point being on a lot of cases is that any hobby could kill you, for some its smoking e-cigs, mines not an hobby but i can't attack those who want to replace smoking cigs, that would not be fair, i've seen people stop for 20 years and then for no reason start again.

Next is the its an addiction, yes, legal though so no one should be made to feel ashamed and until its made illegal, people shouldn't ! But with all addictions i see the same thing, also get told it direct, its an addiction you must stop and its bad what your doing, by the time you say its an addiction, an addict as already stopped listening to your point, the brain is a great tool but also as its flaws, by triggering what it needs it goes in to selfish mode and being an addict to something, the rest of the body follows ConfusedAngry in a lot of cases an addict can find the smallest of reasons to light up or drink a few beers, its a stimulus thats not that easy for most just to switch off and ignore, thus my argument for e-cigs is at least slowly killing that trigger to light up.

The governments raise the price of normal cigs saying it will get people to stop, why don't they just ban it instead??? the profits they make don't go back in to cancer research and so making it obvious that they just want the money from them.

Again, don't blame those who do smoke, this is down to powers that could stop the next generation of smokers before they even try one, by making it illegal Smile

Re: E-Cigerettes

My father was a heavy smoker since he was young, I tried many times to make him quit,
but he never did it SadSad; in 2009, when he was 59, he suffered a heart attack, his heart stopped
for 5 times, thanks God he was in the hospital and doctors were able to bring him back SmileSmile
They told him to immediately stop smoking, and this time he did it, he never smoked again since then Thumb upThumb up
I never smoked in my life and I will never try it, I know it's not easy to quit, but please remember what can happen to you :
not only cancer (I lost my two grandfathers for lungs cancer CryCry ), but also heart problems, don't forget we have only one
life, I think it's stupid to waste it for smoking ConfusedConfused
If you're not able to stop by yourselves, I'm sure in every country you can find people who can help you SmileSmileSmile
Think also about all the people who love you and how sad they will be if you pass away CryCryCry
For me E-Cigarettes are not the solution, maybe you'll live longer than with normal cigarettes, but not as long as you
stop smoking forever

Re: E-Cigerettes

Well guys, I did smoke for several years. It was a part of my lifestyle.
I did tried to stop with smoking for more then 1 time, but always failed. Failed because I wasn´t 100% motivated and convinced about it.
The best thing to do was to change a little bit my lifestile and my belief in this mission.
Like to stop drinking coffee, cause after that I always want it to smoke.Or to stop with sex, to beware the cigarette after it. Big Grin
So to stop with one thing to make it easier for the other thing.
And doing more sport for a better balance. This is an important thing also for people who sitting hours behind the pc for job or hobby.
Just making your mind clear for some hours.

I think people can make it if they absolutely convinced, absolutely motivated about it.
And not only focus on the case smoking, but also change some other little things in their daily routine.

That´s why I don´t have a good opinion about E-Cigerettes, because you still have smoking in your mind.
The best thing (in my opinion) is to stop immediately with smoking and to have no other options/excuses..

Re: E-Cigerettes

Thanks to God i quit smoking some years ago before e-cigarettes (i've never been a great smoker, so for me It wasn't so hard to stop) but i think it's a good way to start quit smoking.
