Re: Porsche Supercup+&+which support F1

---- feels3 :: i sorry 4 so long interpolationSmile Confused Tongue Smile Thumb up
Tongue long...long time ago....
came the idea of creating a new form of racing spectacle designed to precede F1, FIAT remembered V1035.
D'Agostini decided to create a V10 engine with an angle of aperture of at 72 degrees. Substantiate your vision statement: V8 engines were the best in Formula 3000, a V10 engine will be the best solution for the new Formula 1
in November 1985, work started on a new project. Engineer Pino D'Agostini became the head of a panel of eight eminent specialists Bodini, Bordoni, Flor, Giani, Mazzoleni, Rossetti, Teruzzi and Turina. Our experience and outstanding skills of the team in a very short time a unit of gas, called Alfa Romeo V1035, where the first letter means an arrangement of cylinders, while the numbers mean respectively the number of cylinders and cylinder capacity. The new V10 is an example, and also confirm the unbelievable artistry of Italian engineers and technological superiority of Italian thinking over the rest of the world. V1035 is the first engine designed for modern F1 car. Honda unveiled its unit on Alfa Romeo and Renault a year later.
1 July 1985 the heart of the monster that killed the first time, and fans and fans of Formula 1 have heard a real orchestra sounds - high-end with the release of Cuore Sportivo. Turn on the new work ... doomed to failure? - Alfa Romeo 164 ProCar oskich masters spend awake at night all the more competition that boasted not only an outstanding gang of 10 cylinders "wavelets", but the power rate of 583 hp. With excellent characteristics and modern technical solutions, this unit has become a standard reference point for other designers. Solutions used in this design are used with success on the cars F1 today.
V1035 engine is running two rows of cylinders at an angle of 72 degrees. The block is made from aluminum and silicon. Connecting rods are made of titanium, the pistons are hypereutectic alloy forgings of aluminum (with a high content of silicon). Each piston has two rings, and their bottoms are cooled by oil. Initially, the engine is equipped with a head with four valves per cylinder, and later used five valves per cylinder. Valves as well as connecting rods are made of titanium. In each head were two overhead camshafts with timing controls. The whole dopełniało lightweight and durable flywheel made of titanium. The most advanced evolution of this engine Securenta acquired the power of 620 hp at 13 300 rev / min and reached a maximum torque of 382.2 Nm at 9500 r / min.
Numerous meetings of technicians has resulted in 15 engines and two cars, which are fully completed in September 1988. The first test runs were conducted by Giorgio Francia, on the track in Balocco. The tests lasted about 10 days, and the driver made no secret admiration for the exceptional acceleration, high speed is achieved by balancing the car and the Alfa 164 Pro-Car. It is no wonder, with a capacity of 600 hp and a weight of 750 kg, Alpha has provided acceleration from 0-100 km / h - 2.1 seconds and reaches a top speed reached 340 km / h September 9 it was decided to demonstrating the potential of the Alfa Romeo Monza during the Italian Grand Prix. Filtered ... doomed to failure? - Alfa Romeo 164 ProCar driven vehicle to serve only a few laps, but they were saved for all racing fans. The speed at which Riccardo Patrese achieved when running the test, far exceeded the speed with which F1 cars moved and reached 329 km / h
Unfortunately, this was the first and last appearance Alfa Romeo164 Pro-Car. No other company has taken the challenge. It is difficult to determine whether the fault was at the high costs associated with the development of such a vehicle, or concerns with the strong competition in the form of an Alfa Romeo. Pro-Car series has never graced the tracks, and AR 164 Pro-Car, we can admire the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese
The project fell
[As a result, created a central cage supplemented with a honeycomb structure. To complete construction of Nomex is used, the material characteristics and properties similar to Kevlar and aluminum with panels made of carbon fiber. Company Brabham successfully operated in the automotive industry since the mid-seventies, when it was committed to working with companies to create Milanese F1 cars to take advantage of its experience in the field of composite structures.]
