Just over a week ago, on the LA9 stream there was a very cute girl called Morgana I had never seen before...

Actually, as far as I know, overall EU rules are still the same: the TV channel must respect the laws of the Country where it's broadcasting from, then they can cover all Europe. There isn't a more restrictive "European law".

It isn't just freedom of expression. Lot's of things are banned after public debate and open votes by national parliaments. It's that sexy TV has been banned all across Europe after a decision by an unelected official in an anonymous office somewhere, and every national government and broadcasting organisation has rolled over and accepted it without argument.

About 2 years ago, I found La9 on my computer search for live shows. I found Blondie, and Giglian and others. The sad laws that followed have turned a once flourishing industry into a homogenized load of bs. These women want to be naked, inserting fingers and dildo's. This would explain the reason of the differences among the "Italian" channels; for example, BioTV is almost tame, while Showroom aka Etruria channel is still very hot.

HotBird consortium has nothing to do with the law; simply, being an Italian law, it apply to all Italian licensed channel, it doesn't matter which satellite they broadcast from.

So, simply, on TV channels with an Italian license there's no more full nudity on live (or fake-live...) shows. Actually the law do not strictly says that, but it's written in a way even that could be intepreted as "pornography" according to a judge discretion. For the same reason, no more dirty language. but as you can see on several Italian channel on HotBird with a non Italian license things are still going otherwise. Apart from rules from the licensing Country, there also are rules by the service provider; not the satellite consortium, but consoritum clients, like, for instance, Telefonica, from Spain, which is one of the more permissive.

alas, the shows are tamed down even on some Italian-but-not-Italian channel, since the same shows are broadcasted on the same time on terrestrial channel with a regular Italian license (because of a wide larger audience).

Ironically, those same regular Italian channel are still (and legally) broadcasting Playboy or Penthouse show (or Playboy-like shows), with full nudity and clear view on you-know-what; it may seems strange, but it was clear that was allowed even before the new law came into effect, while for a live show is too risky even showing full nudity, and also "drty talking". Last year (like yesterday on a Polish channel, TVP Kultura) the movie "La Pianiste" was aired by La7 in its full lenght version, so including the hard core segments in the peep show scene, since the movie in Italy is just rated 14.
