Unfortunately in Germany "Elmar" is a male first name, maybe this increases the confusion.
Considering Germany is one of the biggest markets for ETV maybe it wasn't one of the best ideas to name her like that, I rather have to think of a colleague with that first name than of the sea side in Spain.

It is very interesting to read the contributions below, and as I happen to like Elmar for what she is, I can´t help but to throw in a few words myself.

First- the (excuse my frank language) bullsh*t about Elmar "replacing" another model, for instance Gia. I don´t think any girl replaces any other. They are in the show with their own character and in their own right. Of course, you can always compare or look for similarities but there is not a fixed number of defined characters in the show who have to be replaced. Gia has left the show and I´m sure her ambition is not to return. This is a part of her life that is over and done with. Unfortunately, for some viewers, this may mean that they have to try and find love somewhere else, maybe with a real person in real life.

Second- the part of the origin of the models. All the girls play a character in the show, for various reasons. Much of what we see is based on the real person, the real girl, behind the nickname but it is possible that the characters are given a background of their own. How many of you can remember that Gia, in her early days, responded to a question of her origin with the answer "I am from Brazil", and yet she could sing (you could actually read her lips) local or near-regional Molvanian songs when the music selection was much bigger. So maybe "Elmar" is from Mexico, maybe the girl we see playing the part of Elmar dreams of going to some beautiful Mexican beach one day. I don´t know and I don´t care. It is simply a matter of role-playing. The same thing with the girls´ nicknames, and indeed, the nicknames of the contributors to this forum. So even if the girl, playing the part of Elmar, struggles with her Spanish, for me it is totally OK that "Elmar" is from Mexico.

So, my fellow viewers, in conclusion I say- Please do not take this show so seriuosly. The girls give us a few hours of rather harmless entertainment so that we can forget our own pityful, pathetic lives but they will never be, nor can they be, our girlfriends, our future wives or our best friends. For this we, as well as the girls themselves, have to find happiness in the real world.

Elmar are seen Mexico but I think the postcards, as well as Annabelle said he comes from Polish.
While Elmar say something in Spanish, there is no denying that with great difficulties, the latter after the Polish do not say anything.
