Matamata - glutton from South America.
Matamata or fringed turtle (Chelus fimbriatus) was first described by
German naturalist Johann Schneider in 1783. It refers to a rather numerous family a snake neck turtle.

A resident of the northern part of South America, preferring small river,
muddy backwaters of the Amazon and Orinoco, has registered in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, the island of Trinidad.

The unusual appearance at first glance may look like a pile of garbage.
And more, because the length of the shell can reach 45 cm, and the weight is not small - up to 15 kg.

They eat just swallowing their prey (small fish, tadpoles and so on.) In its entirety.
