The Italian conductor Claudio Abbado, has died at age 80 years. It was the last of a great generation of directors.
A great loss to classical music.

Re: News from the World

Oh sorry I have forgotten something in my "best-wishes-for-MORGI" post last night.
During the ski flying competiotion last Saturday was been something it impressed me very much.
All Polish ski jumpers had written some special words on one of their skis.
They were German words and their meaning was "ALL THE BEST MORGI"

Here is the German original. "MORGI-ALLES GUTE"

Thanks and Greetings to "KAMIL STOCH & ALL OTHERS OF THE POLISH TEAM" it is impressive so much.
Well the ski jumpers are a big, great family and stick together, though, everbody would like to win the jumping competition.
Most essence is that in this spectacular sport no riots have been grew up. So different to another popular sport.

How is it called ? Football/Soccer Confused

Morgi/Schumi i keep my fingers crossed for your convalescense and that pretty soon.

Sincer Regards

Re: News from the World

It's pity not to hear that Schumies state gets better. I hope for some positive news and look in this hope in E-papers every day.
Now I would like to meantion that another nice person of this world is lying on the intensive care of the hospital in Salzburg too this days.
THOMAS MORGENSTERN - Austrian Ski jumper.
I saw his horrible crash during the training on the ski flying hill in "Bad Mitterndorf am Kulm" last Friday. A wind boe hitted his ski while he was flying. He had no chance to take any correction and he is an absolutely expert.
Ski jumping and ski flying are very attractive sport but as same as atractive they are dangerous too. Viewers in front of TV don't judge them when their fly ends before the "200 m - line".
My highest respect goes to everybody who takes part in this spectacular sport and yes I enjoy every competiotion and one of my happiest moments was when NORIAKI KASAI was winning the competition last Saturday.
NORI is 41 years old. He had his first competition when Gregor Schlierenzauer has been 4 years old. That on the narrow margin only.

GET WELL SOON "MORGI" and STAY LIKE YOU ARE. All my fingers are crossed.

Best Regards

Re: News from the World

Pioneering Hong Kong movie producer Run Run Shaw, whose studio popularized the kung fu genre that influenced Quentin Tarantino and other Hollywood directors, died Tuesday. He was 107.
His Shaw Brothers Studios, once among the world's largest, helped launch the careers of powerhouses including director John Woo and churned out nearly 1,000 movies. His television empire helped actors including Chow Yun-fat rise to fame. He also produced a handful of U.S. films, including the 1982 sci-fi classic "Blade Runner."
