March 25 - Day of the founding of Venice ...

Although no surviving historical records deal directly with the founding of Venice, tradition and
the available evidence have led several historians to agree that the original population of Venice
consisted of refugees from Roman cities near Venice such as Padua, Aquileia, Treviso, Altino
and Concordia (modern Portogruaro) and from the undefended countryside, who were fleeing
successive waves of Germanic and Hun invasions.

Some late Roman sources reveal the existence of fishermen on the islands in the original marshy lagoons.
They were referred to as incolae lacunae ("lagoon dwellers"). The traditional founding is identified with the
dedication of the first church, that of San Giacomo on the islet of Rialto (Rivoalto, "High Shore") — said to
have taken place at the stroke of noon on 25 March 421 (the Feast of the Annunciation). [hidden link - please register]

Re: On This Day...

I suppose the most shameful part about the Holocaust was the fact that the Allied commands knew all about it but chose to do nothing as many RAF planes flew over these camps when barbaric acts were taking place. Instead Churchill and co chose to focus completely on the war effort. The Holocaust could and should have been brought to an abrupt end well before 1945. Not only do we mourn the countless victims but it also leaves a massive bloodstain on those who knew but chose to ignore. Lets also not forget that Concentration Camps do still exist in North Korea and the sooner we bring this present day atrocity to an end the better. Yet again our Western Governments are turning a blind eye to it.

Re: On This Day...

Churchill was Liar ,with jewish gold he set the world on fire

From February 13 to February 15, 1945, during the final months of World War II , Allied forces bombed the historic city of Dresden, located in eastern Germany. The bombing was controversial because Dresden was neither [b]important to German wartime production nor a major industrial center, and before the massive air raid of February 1945 it had not suffered a major Allied attack. By February 15, the city was a smoldering ruin and an unknown number of civilians—estimated at somewhere between 35,000 and 135,000–were dead.

DRESDEN. THE WORST WAR CRIME OF WW 2
TheHolocaust unleashed on Dresden had no strategic or tactical advantage whatsoever for the Americans or the British:Dresden had no military bases, no major communication centers or heavy industry..Dresden had no air defense.

Now it ´´s a time for No Remorse ( german - british friendship will carry on)Thumb up
