Christoph Willibald Gluck (2.July 1714-15.11.1787).
During his lifetime he was very famous and his operas celebrated huge successes.Only few of Gluck's 50 operas have survived.but they are really great.

Today,100 years ago,the famous conductor Rafael Kubelik was born.(1914-1996)
Especially his interpretations of works of czech composers are still highlights.

This year we celebrate the 300th birthday of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach.Haydn and Mozart were admirers of his music.Once he was much more famous than his father.
His music is worth to hear.

I love the music of Franz Schubert.Especially his piano and chamber music mean a lot to me.
Joy and sorrow,longing for death and hope for the future....Well,I'm not good with words.Listen to Schubert and you hear what I mean

The original was a Lied for voice and piano.
This is a nice orchestral version of this well-known piece.

Chabrier is known in Spain, especially for this work.
It is a rhapsody which is made with bits of Spanish folk music that the author was listening during the months he was here.
Really, reflects well the Spanish environment.
