Torchbearer exceptional, Didier Drogba - hero of the Champions League final win last Saturday in Monaco from Chelsea against Bayern - participated in the enthusiasm of the crowd, the relay of the
Olympic torch in the west of England. The Ivorian striker - who scored the winning goal at the Allianz Arena 1-1 in regulation time and the decisive penalty in the sequence that resulted in victory for the Blues - has brought the torch through the town of Swindon, on the fifth day of rolling on the floor of the United Kingdom, which will end in the Olympic Stadium in London on 27 July, the day of the opening ceremony of the Games. In the streets of Swindon, Drogba, 34, who recently announced the departure after eight seasons at Chelsea, was greeted and encouraged by a cheering crowd of thousands of people, many of whom wore the jersey of the Blues. |

Well, I'm not quite sure where to put this story. But since it's Olympic games 2012 related, I'll put in here.
Aaron Cook has been left out of the GB Taekwondo squad for the Olympic Games. Why? Because he funds his own training programme, outside of the GB Taekwondo framework. I think this is absolutely rediculas. We want to win as many medals as possible, but they leave the worlds no.1 ranked fighter out of the GB squad. ![]() You can read the full story [hidden link - please register] |
