Yes, good to see they've not let all that great talent go to waste with the demise of that other channel.
Looks like they've brought together and created a good roster of women. Agree it's good to keep these separate from main S66, although I do hope that doesn't mean we'll miss out on members only pics/vids or indeed any possible cam shows. It appears that Studio 66 have turned channel 927 into a dedicated channel for older ladies. It's called Golden Girls TV and Wendy Taylor is on there right now on the S66 office set. I've noticed that the live stream on this forum now only has three tabs instead of four, and next week's schedule has four girls scheduled most nights instead of the current five.
I think it's a good move, as there's definitely a market for the 40+ women, and also good that they've given it a separate brand rather than have it on the current S66 website. Here's the link: http://www.goldengirlstv.com/ |

S66 have left their transponder for channels 927, 938 and 941, and these are now over on their new transponder shared with Playboy, RLC etc.
Some will notice video quality will have taken a downward turn... |

I didn't have high hopes for tonights show because until the two girls were standing side by side and began undressing each other I assumed it was a webcam show backstage at the studio. So right off the bat the fact that they had a phone and a crew (honestly, I think the girls prefer them there
 ) were two big positives. Yes, the fact that it was free (is this really a criticism?) put limitations on the show due to atvod's impractical rules. But because I wouldn't even expect Mica to dive in and eat out Caty's muff, I was still able to watch and enjoy the two of them play tonsil hockey without issue for the first time in literally years.Looking at that 241 thread daz, I can't help but wonder how tonight would have gone if Charlie were still there. |

Appearantly they have to be so tame nowadays that they can even sell tonights show as 'too hot for tv'. And indeed, the only reason those old shows were kind of fun was the unpredictability and the occurance of 'accidents'. Tonight was quite a bleak shadow of such a show. Times have changed as well and studio66 have a reasonably working webcam platform now which would probably made them a load of cash if they used it for this combo show without any restrictions... ( Mica probably wouldn't go too far even on webcam but Caty clearly can have a delightful 'bad' influence... Now THAT would have been 'too hot for tv' and a delight to see what would happen). A lot more exciting idea I'd say...

I did not have high expectations of the show as a pussy show but old skool? this thread shows [hidden link - please register] and this is not a knock at S66 trying but, you can't stage manage something that was random back then, when Caty got naked in the past there would be hand panties or even a OOPS! at some point but sadly lacked and showed as stage managed

Yes, indeed! That would be the best solution! Good h264-encoders can deliver a truly superb picture-quality in a 720x576 resolution with only 1200-1600kbps. Most people own already HD-satellite-receivers, so it would be a smart thing to do, but I'm sure that's not going to happen... |

Agreed - just did some quick analysis and it comes out as bad as you're seeing
The 3 channels of 927, 938 and 941 on current 12643V have bitrate of 2750, 3250, 2500 as average over night show (say 8.5 hours) The 3 test channels for same equivalents of 927, 938 and 941 on new transponder of 11390V have bitrate averages of 1750, 1900, 1750. Over a nights shows, that makes the file sizes drop from 10.1Gb, 12.1Gb, 9.1Gb down to 6.5Gb, 7.1Gb, 6.5Gb. Just watching the screen you can see just how poor and blocky these look. Will make S66 go down in a lot of people's estimation as a 'quality' channel. I wonder if the powers that be at S66 realise just how poor the service will be if they move...? If they want to move to lower bandwidth, they should be shifting away from mpeg2 and over to h264, and asking $ky to put this out as SD but via AVC High L4.0 (H264) (same as used on HD channels). The 11390V transponder has had some test HD Playboy stuff on it occasionally so it's technically possible to mix the video types on a single transponder as we know from other channels across the $ky/freesat frequencies. Lowering mpeg2 too far just introduces too much noise and blockyness to the video image as a VBR stream can't react quick enough and even when it can, it hits the upper boundary they've set on the VBR for that mux on the transponder. They wouldn't be testing if they weren't going to move, so we have to assume this is coming and we'll have to live with whatever they give us. It is after all their channel and they're spending money putting this out - the viewers are only a small part of the revenue stream process. As it stands, the web streams are going to be better than $ky at this rate, which is just farcical. |

Thanks dirk362! As I've already written below I've expected something like that after they reduced TV1 to 480x576 and a constant videobitrate of 2100kbps. I've checked the "testing-transponders" today and sadly the picture-quality is absolutely disastrous (plenty of artifacts and pixelation)
All three channels are in a 544x576-resolution and the Videobitrates are variable now: 53540: 1622Kbs 53545: 1521kbps 53550: 1311kbps [hidden link - please register] [hidden link - please register] [hidden link - please register] The picture-quality is better than Bluebird's, but worse than RLC at the moment. Apparantly they're testing now how low they can go with the minimum bitrates. I don't know how the final result of all this testing will look like, but I'm very sure we can say goodbye to the good picture quality of the three 544x576 channels. I assume the picture-quality will be +/- on the same level as RLC's today and that would mean a massive reduction of the videobitrate (20-25%)... Not sure what happens with the 720x576 channel, but I guess something similar... Reduce bitrate - save money - who cares about quality By the way: Studio 66 has decided to add an animated channel logo to the upper left corner of the screen: [hidden link - please register] All four corners are now covered with animated onscreen-graphics! Well done! Apart from my favourite girls one of the last reasons to record the TV-Version of Studio66 was always the excellent picture-quality and they were much, much better than any other babechannel in this discipline. Sadly it looks like this advantage and "unique feature" will be history soon if Studio66 reduces the quality to such a poor level... For me that means that it makes no sense anymore to record the TV-Version, there's no additonal value. Hopefully the 720x576 channel will stay on the same level, but I seriously doubt it. The quality of the TV-version will not be much better than the webstreams, but you'll get the most annoying onscreen-graphics imaginable... If Studio66 is trying to make the TV-Version of their channels more and more unwatchable, then sadly I have to congratulate them!
