A change of tact and...........a goodbye !

Many words have been written this week of the sudden change of concept in the programming at ETV. A change that has affected both channels.

There is little point in speculating ferther in this respect and we are quite unlikely to know the real reason for this change of tact. But what is certain is that whatever has been taken away will not come back. So we must learn to accept it.

And equally the channel must also learn that if you lose your audience and potential callers as a result of this sudden change of tact then they will also not come back.

And equally the channel must also learn that if you lose models, moderators and directors as a consequence of this change of tact then they will also not come back.

For this correspondent, it is the end of the road. There is no longer any point in commenting about shows as there are no longer any shows. There is no longer any point in trying to tell them where they have gone wrong as there are no longer any shows to go wrong.

In my last weekly missive I passed comment, missed by most who replied, of a planned 'special' by the channel at the weekend. The lack of any promotion for this can only mean that the 'special' has been cancelled due probably to the change of tact. Yet even if I am wrong and the 'special' takes place as this change of tact was merely a warm up for that, you will not get any comments from me about it.

The last 3 years have been a journey for me. I never knew what I would discover on that journey. I have discovered friendship. I have discovered happiness..And if any of these have been taken away then like the tv they will also not come back.

But do not think that you won this 'war' because in my mind there was no war. My purpose was entirely selfish. Something you would never understand even if you were to be told the full reason. But bask now in your glory of 'victory'. And then for just one moment, like any commander in the field, appreciate the real cost of that victory. Hopefully we can both survive to fight another day.

But for now, from this special correspondent, goodbye !

The girls are having a change of tact tonight (sunday)

Needless to say elmovision has powered down all recording equipment.
the last recordings on my drive are from the 9th of June. Everything after that has been binned apart from a few seconds of Athina on ETV2 at midnight last night. I was at home and zapped into it.

it's not the end of the world but surely, for me, this is the end of etv, sooner or later a new channel will take the place of the old etv (at least that's my hope) and then we will find something to talk about...
