Girls that come back.....

... and those that leave

I had this post in my head before the pleasant surprise of last night. Depending on the mood, or how long the beer lasts, she might also get a mention.

There is a certain air of expectation that as October dawns the potential return of some long established models, following their travels to distant lands, will breathe some fresh air on to the becalmed good ship ETV.

Yet history has shown that very few models do return in the manner that they were when they left. They have grown older and, hopefully, wiser. The expectation is that a) if they do return and b) hang around for more than a few shows all their fans will be so extacially happy that they will be queuing up to send their greetings by phone or SMS and the cargo deck will fill up yet again.

And the expectation is that they will be the same. The expectation that they can act like dolls where you only need to turn a key and they perform like clockwork.

So if they do return and do hang around for more than a few shows, there may be an unpleasant surprise for those harnessing these great expectations.

And those that leave.

It amuses me to read the great outpouring of public 'grief' when a 'fan club' gets so emotional over the loss of their icon. So much so that they will not accept the departure unless there is an 'official' announcement. Get over it. If she chose to leave, for whatever reason, without saying good-bye then it was her choice. She might have returned once before yet there is no guarantee that she would make a similar journey again.

So, as I stare down the rapidly decreasing 8% proof Duvel, I'll spare a few words for Viviana. Hope you do hang around for more than a few shows and maybe, just maybe, there will be some incentive to move the studio back next door and you can then practice your natural talents which have been sorely missed.
