Re: News from the World

Finally somebody has posted something about the upcoming USA Election. To be honest its a fucking embarrassment that we don't have a Thread dedicated to the election but seeing that very few members on this forum appears to give a fuck about anything other than downloads and discussing the merits of a now defunct TV channel and the merits of its website then it would have been a pointless exercise Cool

All that said and done, where do we start with the 2 candidates, Hilary is crooked and Trump seems to think its ok to grope women and then deny it, one thing is for sure however, if Trump wins then World War 3 might just been round the corner, he doesn't strike me as the kind of man who wants to be diplomatic or reach any sort of compromise, Trump will pick a side and all hell will break loose, in the short term if he won I wonder if he'd manage to have the power to get Hilary locked up or not Blush

I fully expect no debate about the Pro's and Con's of this election to take place anytime soon on this forum. I shall return to the news channel now I think Smile

Medics dash to rural Haiti as cholera kills 13 in Matthew's wake...

Cholera has killed at least 13 people in southwest Haiti in the wake of Hurricane Matthew, officials
said on Saturday, as government teams fanned out across the hard-hit southwestern tip of the
country to repair treatment centers and reach the epicenter of one outbreak.

[hidden image - please register]

The storm took the lives of nearly 900 people in Haiti, many in remote towns clustered near the headland,
according to a Reuters tally of numbers given by local officials.

Haiti's central civil protection agency raised to 336 its official death toll, a slower count because officials must visit
each village to confirm the numbers. The government said there would be three days of national mourning.

Matthew slammed into South Carolina on Saturday, after skirting the Atlantic coast of Florida and Georgia,
causing widespread power outages and flooding. [hidden link - please register]

Pope Francis: journalism based on gossip and lies a form of terrorism.

The pope, who made his comments in an address to leaders of Italy’s national journalists’ guild,
said reporters had to go the extra mile to seek the truth, particularly in an age of round-the-clock
news coverage. Spreading rumours is an example of “terrorism, of how you can kill a person with
your tongue“, he said. “This is even more true for journalists because their voice can reach everyone and
this is a very powerful weapon.“ [hidden link - please register]
