Ofcom Discussion and News

With next months general election looming and if predicted the Labour party are ousted from power and the tories win then according to sources ofcom as we know it will cease to exist as they are top of David Camerons hitlist in order to cut back on taxpayers money. With ofcom gone what sort of implications might that have on the uk babe channels and does anybody think that pussy shows or any kind of full frontal could become reality come post election Britain.

I am still trying to get my head round the cooked up idea that a child accidentally stumbling upon a 900 channel and seeing a nipple during the day is going to cause them any harm or distress, in what way exactly. Let's assume that the irresponsible parents never ofcourse bothered to block the Adult Channels in the first place which is now blocked by default on the SKY Box anyhow. Who wrote the UK Broadcasting code. A fucking comedian and not a very good one as this joke has gone on long enough.

Re: Ofcom Discussion and News

Ofcom have decided that Studio66 were in breach of the BCAP Code, specifically

Rule 32.3 “Relevant timing restrictions must be applied to advertisements that, through their content, might harm or distress children of particular ages or that are otherwise unsuitable for them”.

This followed a very specific complaint concerning a daytime broadcast on the 27th November 2018 concerning prolonged nipple exposure, exposed buttocks and skimpy clothing.

Whilst Studio66 proffered a defence they also admitted that the exposure of the presenter’s nipple was “unfortunate” and “purely accidental”,

Full decision;

The daytime nipple count has all but disappeared.

Babestation have also received complaints this year but Ofcom have deemed them outside of their remit. Perhaps the advantage of Dutch licence regulators.

OFCOM you are hypocrites ;) look at the olympics... u have the women volleyball team wearing partially tight outfit on daytime tv, the diving team (men and women) small tight outfits, barely keepin their ass in. I think ofcom should take a closer look at the olympics and start fining BBC for breaking some daytime regulations!

Im curious if people ring in and complain, would OFCOM fine BBC or even get the women volleyball team to wear bigger outfits Smile

Why not wear a burka? Sorry if we have muslims here....

But is there no opposition in GB against ofcom? Or is it like in Germany where the guys who fight for Sexual Revolution, now the same guys who forbid everything....

What is wrong with our world these days...

Re: Ofcom Discussion and News

The regulator has yet again cast it's shadow over the babe channels.
This time Satellite Entertainment Limited licensee's of services Essex Babes, Northern Birds and Live XXX Babes have been fined £90,000 for nine breaches of licence condition 11 'Failure to provide recordings of shows'.
At the time of the breaches the channels had been leased to Bluebird whom it is alleged were also in the process of buying the licenses from SEL and whom should have supplied the relevant recordings.
In their defence SEL stated that they had carried out 'Due Diligence' on Bluebird prior to agreeing the lease arrangement and the sale of the licenses to ensure they had compliance systems in place in line with Ofcom's requirements.
These arrangements were not fully accepted by Ofcom and stated it is always the licensee's responsiblitiy to supply recordings to them and not a third party and that they felt that SEL had lost control of their licenses for this 6 week period.

The full decision can be found here.

Interesting then that the current provider of broadcast content on the channels licensed by SEL is Bluebird. Now either the licenses have been sold to Bluebird and they are currently going through the formal transfer process with Ofcom or SEL have gone down the same road of a leasing arrangement. Either way i believe Ofcom will have some concerns over these arrangements, either because they have failed in the past or that they will not accept Bluebird as 'Fit and Proper' to hold broadcast licenses.

Current broadcast content from Bluebird is well within BCAP requirements, some would say tame, along with other broadcasters.

Next on the regulators hit list is Elite TV who have 8 'In Breach' findings against them with 3 pro-active investigations still to be decided and RLC who have 9 pro-active investigations still to be decided against them with 'In Breach' findings already stated. Playboy are the licence holder for RLC who are imposing their own limits on the shows to appease Ofcom.

If i am right most of the complaints come from the other channels, so in answer to that i would say no. You might get 1 or 2 real ones but the rest from the competition.

Not sure what they think there gaining from it other than to put all the 900 channels on the ofcon radar Confused

Do most of the people who complain have nothing better to do?

Re: Ofcom Discussion and News

Was not sure if this should go in here or the Bluebird section, anyway most will know that channel 960 is now gone, this is due to Ofcon revoking the license of the owner due to lack of information regarding ownership.

Heres a link that will tell you more. [hidden link - please register]

And just how do Ofcom's "generally accpetable standards" which they trot out ad nauseam and on which everything they do is predicated, get to change suddenly within a week?

It usually takes a long time for "general" public opinions on this kind of stuff to evolve.

Please feel free to join me in asking your local MP to investigate this apparent contradiction in terms.

The main problem as i see it is, we the UK members had the option to do what was needed [hidden link - please register] but only just over a 100 did, if the channels get re-stricked anymore or they go, i'm sorry but people only have themselves to blame for that.

I agree it's not a big change and let's hope it's not the start of more changes coming further down the line.
The only thing that i don't like is the fact I enjoy watching Laura Jones on topshelf and she would do topless from 9 till 11 and now we'll only get an hour topless show.

Agreed but you can add chatgirls to that, as Lauren is normally topless at the same time, but they only have until 10pm so that as killed that show for me at least.
