Capturing Actual Streams (Not Screen Capturing)

Hi, just wanted to know if someone had any tips on recording the streams off Sexstationtv.com & Sportxxxbabes.net. I can record the stream of babestation 1 & 2 easily but for some reason whenever i try to record sexstation and sportsxxxbabes  the website either crashes my firefox (IE)  or the stream stops running.

Usually though my program stops recording it after roughly 20-30mins (or shorter at times). Also when running either streams, my pc starts to move very slow as if its using all my CPU power.

Hope someone can help.

@seancarterjz

As for the autoresume, the steam is constant and you can start at anytime, so the autoresume option is not really supported, I would just leave 3-4 files on the hard drive and have the whole set split into sections. The fast-forward option is not working entirely with these players and having one large file can sometimes be problematic. Anyway, when I'm using NetTransport I never have any problems with downloading the .flv. Maybe try using NetTransport or GetRight instead of Total Commander and the connection will be more stable/won't break.

Empty buffer is complely new to me :/ I mostly use mplayer and I've never had this problem.

@elmo

You are absolutely right! I wrote that this is like downloading a binary file. I use Total Commander because with IE you've downloads going into the cache of the browser and not the local folder. FireFox downloads the file locally.

The MPlayer approach is for the moments that you will need more CPU power, because ther's a separate command start /high and mplayer is lighter to run that an app with a windows interface.

Re: Capturing Actual Streams (Not Screen Capturing)

This is even easier

Open IE paste URL hit return, dialog window opens, OK , save to wherever you want. Open VLC paste the same URL or open the the downloading file and watch what you DL, I'm not a great fan of the UK style but this works.

Re: Capturing Actual Streams (Not Screen Capturing)

hi Sat

thanks for the fantastic outline mate. Still got one unsual problem. I downloaded upto 130M but everytime I get just 3mins worth of playback and then an error saying empty buffer and the video stops .! any ideas how to correct this ? Also the download breaks off after a while is there anyway to configure an autoresume while one is away ?( ps ive got 500GB free space )

Cheers mate

Re: Capturing Actual Streams (Not Screen Capturing)

Sorry, I had no idea I had to be clearer about it :]

1. Download yourselft Total Commander, it's free. It just has this annoying screen at the beginning

2. Create a new folder with F7 and enter it

3. Hit CTRL+N to open the window and paste the .flv url, it will start downloading like a normal file, but it will be doing that until around 5 a.m. , that's when they reset the stream I guest. You may run out of space all well, after an hour it will be well above 300mb with a good quality.

4. Hit the 'background' button to put the download window in the background

5. In the same folder that the file is being downloaded to, hit SHIFT+F4, and type the name mp.bat. This will open notepad (you can start notepad yourself, just save it to the same folder).

6. Paste this into the mp.bat:

start /high c:\mplayer\mplayer.exe -idx %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7

where c:\mplayer\mplayer.exe is the path to your mplayer, i.e. if you've got the .exe file in c:\apps\mp\mplayer.exe type this into notepad:

start /high c:\apps\mp\mplayer.exe -idx %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7

7. Save the file in the same folder as .flv. If you're using Notepad make sure you change the extension from .txt to .bat after you've saved. In total commander, you highlight the file and hit SHIFT+F6.

8. Type in the command line down below in Total Commander:

mp.bat flash_low.flv

(this will start playing the local file that is being downloaded in the background)

9. This will hopefully start playing the file :]

Just to learn about the other uk services I found these .flv urls:

hard

soft

I cannot explain clearer :/ If you're still having problems, you need to read what .bat files are and that you don't compile them, they are just text files which have .bat instead of .txt.

Re: Capturing Actual Streams (Not Screen Capturing)

As for using MPlayer, I forgot to tell you the way I'm using it :]

I created an mp.bat file with this inside:

start /high c:\mplayer\mplayer.exe -idx %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7

and I run:

mp.bat stream.flv

This .bat file opens a separate process in windows under high prioprity. What it does is it gives more power of the CPU to the video and the -idx parameter tries to restore indexing of the file, which helps a lot with broken .avi file and maybe it does sth to the .flv too.

As for the VLC settings, I have no idea cause I just open the .flv file as if the file was completely downloaded on my hard drive. Just File->Open->.flv and it stars playing well.

A recap:

1. start a download on the .flv

2. run  mp.bat  filename.flv    in cmd.exe

3. the video is playing and being downloading in the background

I think that's it, really :]

Re: Capturing Actual Streams (Not Screen Capturing)

hi Sat, many thanks for the info and quick response matey. Im still trying to figure out how to us the two encoders u recommended. I tried using VLC as u mentioned but the stream and play keeps breaking up even when i choose the option to cache up to 1200 or even when i try to save streamed nothing happens.

could u oultine a good config for network streaming using VLC that works well for the sexstation stream? the quality using the url u provided is much better than trying to stream from the station's site

I got the mplayer setup for windows but i doesnt load the url as well.? Is there a particular way of configuring it matey, cos when i paste the url nothing happens ! Please help !

Cheers mate

Re: Capturing Actual Streams (Not Screen Capturing)

I use NetTransport or even hitting Ctrl+N in Total Commander and pasting the url will do. It's like downloading a normal binary file.  MPlayer is good to view anything, really. VLC also handles .flvs. There may be a problem with fast-forwarding withing the files, so you can always convert them using Riva Encoder or sth similar. MPlayer has also the option to convert but you have to get into their long and boring documentation on how to type it in the command line.

Hope this helps. Of course you can download and play the file at the same time and it's like watching the live stream on the website. MPlayer is the best at it, in my opinion.

Re: Capturing Actual Streams (Not Screen Capturing)

I'm not sure it's legal to download it, but  just for educational purposes I checked the .swf file for any actionscript entries containing the video stream and I can tell you that the .flv file comes from http://62.129.143.37:9980/flash_low.flv , which the video.swf connects to. I don't recommend downloading the show if they have made so much effort to conceal it. In case you were wondering how this is done, you just need to be able to read ActionScript in the .swf files.

About the CPU usage, I guess the flash player uses so much. In my FF the video doesn' work at all. But in IE it's all good.
