For anybody that is interested Foxxbabes now has a second channel. Direct stream to VLC code and rtmp code.

http://178.33.126.213:1935/leved/foxxxbabes2/playlist.m3u

rtmpdump -r "rtmp://178.33.126.213:1935/leved/foxxxbabes2" -f "WIN 17,0,0,169" -W "http://iptv.firestormmedia.tv/flash/player/player.swf" -v -q -o "FoxxxBabes2.flv"

Re: stream to vlc player

Hi Guys,
I'm having a go at using VLC player instead of RTMP today.
The whole thing seems bulky and less refined and there seems to be various ways of doing things which you'd expect as it's designed to do all things.
How do you guys record streams using VLC Player?
I notice alot of people put the streaming code in, then hit record. Fine, but on mine it is saved as a .TS file ? (no problem, but still, rather it be mp4 like rmtp does . )
Are you guys then converting it? (sounds like quality loss?)
Another way is convert save the click on the convert option, save as mp4 and .. hey presto another way.
I notice another way of doing it, sigh, and surely the purist way, is to goto convertsave , dump as raw and save as all files.
Comes out as a 'nothing' file (lol) but can still be played using MPHC for example.
Sorry to open up a can of worms but how do 'you' guys personally do it.
I've googled it , seems to be not much info bar the 'stream then press record 'way' .
Obviously I'm paranoid on quality loss using VLC player.
Any help much appreciated (scratches brain as to best way) .
Thanks, Dan.

Anybody have up to date Foxxx Babes links? The ones below:-
#EXTINF:-1,Lexi diamond

[hidden link - please register]

#EXTINF:-1,Katie Heaven

[hidden link - please register]

#EXTINF:-1,Princess

[hidden link - please register]

These seem dead. My RMTP links are also not working for this channel.

Re: stream to vlc player

I had issues with playback on FLV, AVI and MKV files through VLC. I got around this by re-encoding the files to MP4, this stabilised playback and no grey as you forward the video.

Re: stream to vlc player

I have added the record button, and just use that for recording, and I know the folder where they go - As mentioned, the only problem is the grey screen/break-up that happens when viewing the recording back, when I skip to different points in the recording - it takes a second or two to clear, then plays fine again, but the same problem occurs every time I select another point to view. Sad

HEXiT wrote:not a lot you can do...
sin tv has poor playback. that will constantly stutter till vlc increases cache enough but even then it will still jam up at there end,.

as for sexysat... its on when its on mate all the channels are working just not 24-7

fact is mate ive been trying for months with no success to improve stream stability.
ive tried adding #ex arguments, different preferences and codec choices.
none have made any real improvment other than select in web interface which helps smooth out any stream that uses it.
also selecting httplive or http adaptive stream can help with some channels but will make others skip that were stable before.

other than that theres not a lot you can do..
maybe try a different codec via the network stream wizard may help with the gray screen playback. but i found 1s i convert them to flv (avs video converter) they playback fine.
i dont convert everything just the stuff im gonna upload to vidbam or share. and thats enough for me.

Thanks, HEXiT.

Weirdly, the streams just started working normally again, without me doing anything! Thumb up

Will still have to look into the recording issues, though. Sad

Re: stream to vlc player

If I record a stream using VLC, what needs to be done to the resultant file to make it 'normally' playable - at the moment, during playback, if I jump to a different part of the video, the image goes all grey/breaks up, and takes a second or two to return to normal? Do I have to change some VLC settings, to output a 'proper' file, or do I have to convert the saved file to another format, and if so, which, and how?

Sorry, for all the questions, but as you may have guessed, video streaming/recording/formats etc, are all new to me! Blush

Re: stream to vlc player

Anyone else having problems with SIN-TV - The last couple of nights, it keeps stopping; not momentarily freezing, but just stops.

Also, Sexysat hasn't worked for me for the last 2-3 nights, none of the streams.

TIA.

Re: stream to vlc player

Hi Hexit,
Thanks for your reply and offer to help.
Soon after posting I actually had another go and got RTMP working Blush . Instead of copying \ pasting the links from google docs, I saved them as text files then pasted to the cmd. It was either that or the path, which I also changed.
Dan.

Re: stream to vlc player

How does VLC recording quality compare to using RMTP? Can't get RMTP working unfortunately Sad ., and is it fairly easy to get working (e.g.. just copying and pasting alink into VLC ) ?
Thanks, Dan.
