Fixing of damaged TS

Today I had the first time a damaged TS file which lead to crash of Corel Video Studio.
TSDoctor could fix it, as I'm only using the trial version which expires soon I also tried Avidemux.
Selected "copy" for Video + Audo, selected output format "MPEG-TS (A+V)" and then saved video and it also worked fine Cool

My main problem is that it's not free, and pretty much all the same things can be achieved with freeware.
Working on TS files myself, I use ProjectX (Java, so cross-platform) and demux then afterwards re-mux output files with either mplex (in Linux) or ImagoMPEG-Muxer (in Windows) both of which are also free. This process fixes slight errors in the stream, out-of-sequence packets etc. I've never yet found something I couldn't fix with it. And ProjectX 0.91.0 now includes all the latest fixes and works fine in Windows 7 aero mode.

I'm only providing alternatives, and not in any way promoting one thing over another. Each person gets on with different products in different ways. Personally I find I'm able to work with the freeware tools...

TransportStreams have a lot of faults caused by encoding problems, caused by broadcasting.

TSDoctor eliminates most of those problems, so you'll get better results when reencoding or tranforming into another container with less overhead.
Thanks for the information. I'm struggling with artefacts in my recordings (in some of my videos you will notice it) though my TV picture is flawless, and TSdoctor doesn't find any problem and also doesn't change anything.
Will this be improved with your proposed way?

I have done some updates today and one more to come ;)
Anyway, I would appeciate if you step in Thumb up
Basically Micosoft Live Movie Maker is very intuitive to use and delivers the basic function you need to edit a video, unfortunately at least on my computer it alwayd crashes after a few minutes, mostly before the work was done Angry
If you get the same problem or you don't use Windows7, I'm very happy with Corel Video Studio Pro X4, the basics you can find out with some try and error and additionally a real user manual is downloadable and the creation of the videos works pretty fast even with my entry level notebook.
It's even not very expensive and you can download a fully operatable 30 day trial version, that's very important to test it on your own, because everyone is different, e.g. I totally failed with the often recommended Magix Video Deluxe.

Re: Disabling Audio Stream

1st, I only speak of eUrotic tv.
2nd, I do not speak of webstream, only of satellite rcordings, TS streams.

For all uploaders of divided files (e.g. The complete show) I highly recommand the tool TSDoctor.
TransportStreams have a lot of faults caused by encoding problems, caused by broadcasting.

Even when there is no reencoding there may be problems which cannot be reduced afterwords, once the TS hydra is cut.

Disabling Audio Stream

When converting/compressing recorded content from VOD files using Any Video Converter how do i disable the audio stream so that i can add an alternative audio track when editing the converted file. What other software is out there that you guys use/recommend and what editing software do you use that will allow me to fade out/in clips to show a smoother show.
Any advice appreciated.

As you can see i have disabled all the common audio formats as well as the audio options but audio still plays on converted files.

Thanks in anticipation.

Best conversion settings?

Im not sure if theres a thread for this, but I just need some advice. What is the best format to post videos in? I want to keep good quality but dont want the filesizes in the 500MB. I have replaymediacatcher, SUPER, and MOYEA FLV EDITOR PRO. Any ideas? I would preferably like to post vids of Mauro's standard as the files seem a good size. Thx in advance for any help. Thumb up

maklo99 wrote:what codec did you use ? Xvid ? Your video quality is perfect, so probably not h264 ?

to go on with off topic:

Xvid would be an avi-file but it's an mp4-file so h264.

The important factor for the quality isn't the codec, it depends usually more on the quality of the signal.
The etv signal fluctuats between crap and brilliant and depends on several factors like light, camera, motion speed and others.

Re: video encoding

If your just into re-encode and trim the clips, you dont need any big tools.
One of the best tools for that is free and it's called avidemux. Simple to use and support any of the codecs you really need. I used it for many years to simply edit and re-encode TS files from the linuxbox.
