Re: Good Rock Music - Discussion & Videos _( thread renamed :)

wow! you're really going for it my friend!

A couple that are slightly off:
Ramblin on My Mind & Sweet Home Chicago are both Eric Clapton and not Robert Johnson (although not sure his were 'original')
and Slipstream is Jethro Tull
otherwise - spot on!

and Shooting Star is Bad Company's tribute to Paul Kossoff. He was the guitarist with Free who died young and when he did the band split with some of them forming Bad Company

nb I changed the vid as Paul Rodgers lost the lyrics part way through the live version!

misterG, the song Don't give up from Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel or from Washed Out???

Its the Peter Gabriel/Kate Bush version Karras

But you did make me think that it was remiss to not have any AC/DC in there somewhere so had a look for my favourite track with the original vocalist - Bon Scott. (I always thought I was on the same road but seem to have got stuck in the lay-by!) But I saw this more recent version and just loved the reaction of the crowd! hope you enjoy as much as they did!

but what do you think of this inuendo filled bit of fun from before they were the supergroup we know now (and with Bon Scott on vocals)?

Re: Good Rock Music - Discussion & Videos _( thread renamed :)

@schubert @karras - thats the one - Nena - I posted in the 'songs you keep coming back to thread' - still have the that very 12" version somewhere...

@ karras - excellent! really wasn't expecting anyone to list them but hope you had fun poring through them...
theres only a couple you got wrong
- my version of Jailbreak is by Thin Lizzy
- Knocking on Heavens Door is the original by Bob Dylan from the film Pat Garret & Billy the KId (as is Turkey Chase)
oh, and Black Magic Woman is on there twice - the 2nd version is Santana...
but looking at the list, it kind of dates me doesn't it! lol
