Georgios Samaras: West Brom sign striker on a free transfer.
West Brom have completed the signing of former Celtic and Manchester City striker Georgios Samaras. The Greece international, joins on a two-year deal on a free transfer. "We've signed a player with vast experience," West Brom manager Alan Irvine said. "He has played a lot of football at the highest levels and he thrives on the big occasion." Samaras becomes the Baggies' ninth summer signing. Sporting Lisbon confirm Marcos Rojo's £16million move to Manchester United -
with Nani going the other way on loan. Manchester United have signed £16million Sporting Lisbon centre back Marcos Rojo, the Portuguese club have confirmed. United winger Nani will move back to his former club on a season-long loan as part of the deal. Nani signed for United seven years ago from Sporting but the 27-year-old will now return to his former club on a temporary deal - with the Reds paying the entirety of his £120,000-per-week wages. United will pay the transfer fee in three installments: £8m being paid now, with two smaller pay-outs of £4m each on December 1 and July 1. The Portuguese club will receive a 20% sell-on if Rojo leaves Old Trafford in a deal worth over £18.5m in the future. Rayo Vallecano have officially announced an agreement with Atlético Madrid, which sees Brazilian striker Leo Baptistao return to Vallecas, rejoining the club on loan for the 2014-2015 season in La Liga. It’s a move they tried to make last January, but lost the race to Real Betis back then. This time however, Rayo Vallecano have secured the return of striker, Leo Baptistao, having agreed to loan the player from Atlético Madrid for the season.
