I thought the sportsmanship was a magnificent and it was wonderful to see both sets of fans singing La Marseillaise after Fridays tragic set of events which really puts the phrase of its only a game into perspective Thanks for that SB. From a Scot, that is praise indeed It's also worth mentioning that, for those not aware, England fans have long had a reputation for disrespecting the opposition's national anthems at Wembley, so it was refreshing to see and hear what happened at yesterday's match. I hope this new-found mutual respect for other countries will continue long into the future. |

From next season SKY viewers in the Republic Of Ireland will be able to watch live Premier League games with the traditional kick off time of 3PM on a Saturday, however in Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK the current rules will still continue.
This is something of a grey area because all you need to do to bypass the current rules is to purchase a foreign satellite system, the current rules stipulate that its ok to view games in the UK with a 3PM kick off time just so long that its for private viewing, pubs who choose to ignore this rule face heavy fines. The thinking behind all this is that if the game were to be shown at 3PM on a Saturday then it could have a detrimental effect on the other teams and dissuade you from going along to support them. Personally speaking I think this is a load of bollocks, I'd rather go and watch my Dundee United team irrespective of who is playing on the telly. [hidden link - please register] |
