Re: Premier League Football Predictor Thread - 2017/18

Welcome all to the weekly round up. My sincere apologies as this is later than expected but I was out on the lash last night and I spent the entire day sleeping off my hangover. I will therefore keep this brief. The best any of you could do was 4 correct predictions. No standout member this week but it was still a fairly decent scoring round. As to the league table best-reporting maintains his 2 point lead at the top. At the bottom Rallkin123 now finds himself 4 points detached and Oddbod scored a blank this week. Still a long way to go yet before anything is decided.

Results From Week 25 went as follows:

Tuesday 30th January 2018
Swansea City 3 Arsenal 1
West Ham United 1 Crystal Palace 1
Huddersfield Town 0 Liverpool 3

Wednesday 31st January 2018
Chelsea 0 Bournemouth 3
Everton 2 Leicester City 1
Newcastle United 1 Burnley 1
Southampton 1 Brighton 1
Manchester City 3 West Bromwich 0
Stoke City 0 Watford 0
Tottenham 2 Manchester United 0

Results From Week 26 went as follows:

Saturday 3rd February 2018
Burnley 1 Manchester City 1
Bournemouth 2 Stoke City 1
Brighton 3 West Ham United 1
Leicester City 1 Swansea City 1
Manchester United 2 Huddersfield Town 0
West Bromwich 2 Southampton 3
Arsenal 5 Everton 1

Sunday 4th February 2018
Crystal Palace 1 Newcastle United 1
Liverpool 2 Tottenham 2

Monday 5th February 2018
Watford 4 Chelsea 1

In all walks of life a bit of give and take has to be taken. I like to refer to this as leeway. Parking tickets have been overturned for example when Traffic Wardens have stamped harsh fines etc on those being parked longer by mere minutes than the allocated time specified. I will include your predictions made in the weekly round up and will keep your name on the league table for the time being. You are more than welcome to do a u turn on your decision.

When the next set of fixtures come around please let me know what you wish to do. Call it a cooling off period if you wish. Once you have come to your final decision then please let me know if you wish to be completely removed from the league table or not. Nonetheless I thank you for your participation this season and whether you choose to continue or not the ball is very much in your court.

I understand that you and Lutonbloke have had your differences on other Threads on this forum and I would like to think that your decision to quit had no bearing on other events and will assume that you would have objected to the decision made regardless of which members late predictions were in question. At the end of the day one of the reasons I posted this Thread was as a way for members to interact with each other in a non confrontational manner with the onus very much being on fun and a friendly rivalry's.

I further request that all posts that fall into the foul play category (pardon the pun) stay off this Thread and request that no further unnecessary unpleasant remarks are made here (saoirse) and if you wish to make any further posts then although the season is very much late in the season then you are more than welcome to join in as all members are welcome to the league. Friends, Foes and enemies. I wish you all a good day and I will see you all again on my next weekly round up.

Re: Premier League Football Predictor Thread - 2017/18

It is simple; Lutonbloke does not make an advantage from making his prediction at 1952. This means I agree it is allowed.

Re: Premier League Football Predictor Thread - 2017/18

@dogman what do you mean you're out, was the statement in jest or something else. Do you oppose the decision to allow Lutonblokes predictions to stand. I'm confused Blush

I ask you to diplomatically state what your objections are because at the end of the day this is a fun Thread. Again I must stress that I have no issues with this late prediction made as at the time of the post made all games were sitting at 0-0. If a goal had been scored then as I say that prediction would have been void. Allowances have been made for other members too in the past when this scenario has occurred with no objections made.

Re: Premier League Football Predictor Thread - 2017/18

Hi mate the time in which you made your predictions was fine as the games had only just kicked off. Technically it was too late but I won't penalise you for it. If one of the games had already had a goal in it then that prediction would have been void but seeing as all the matches were still at 0-0 then it was fine. You can relax now Smile
