To be honest I'm not one usually for the tennis much but I always watch whenever Andy Murray participates. Not quite the same euphoria this time around as 3 years ago but once again a credit to the whole nation of Scotland with one of the most convincing wins I've seen in all my years of watching Wimbledon

2016 THE CHAMPIONSHIPS - WIMBLEDON - DAY 14 (LAST) :
Results Finals :

Gentlemen' s Singles : Andy Murray (2) won his 48th ATP tournament in career (third Grand Slam and second in Wimbledon), defeating
Milos Raonic (6) 6-4, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (2) after 2h 47'

First set was decided by an only break in 7th game, with Murray keeping it till the end and closing 6-4 after 42'; in second set the Scottish was the only one to have break points (4), but Raonic managed to save them all and the set was decided in the tie-break, in which the world' s N° 2 went immediately 3-0, then 6-1 and closed 7-3 after 1h 07'; in third set the Canadian had his only two break points (consecutive) of his match, but Murray saved them and was again the tie-break to decide the set, with the Scottish again going immediately 5-0, the 6-1 and closing the match 7-2 at the second match-point, winning his third Slam in 11 finals, the first after his success in Wimbledon 2013, while Raonic felt the pressure of his first Grand Slam final in career.

Ladies' Singles : Serena Williams (1) won her 71st WTA tournament in career (22nd Grand Slam and 7th in Wimbledon, second consecutive),
Angelique Kerber (4) 7-5, 6-3 after 1h 21'

First set was very balanced, with Kerber saving in her first service game the only three break points in the first 11 games, then Serena was able to break the German in 12th game, closing the set 7-5 after 50'; second set was again balanced in the first six games, then Williams, after saving the only break point given in the all match on 3-3, made the deciding break in the very next game and with three unreturned serves and a winner volley on match-point won her 22nd Slam (the same as Steffi Graf), almost one year after her 21st, while Kerber didn' t manage to repeat the result of last January Australian Open against Serena, but from next week she will return world' s N° 2.
