The show must go on

In the excitement, or maybe shock, of the announcement of the demise of the 'king of pop', the other announcement of a loss within the ETV family may well have gone un-noticed.

It is most true that I had no regard for Eskander in front of the camera. Yet I equally know that he was held in high regard by his work colleagues.

So that news may itself explain the rather low key show this night. But the show must always go on. So just spare a thought or two for Eskander's family at this time.

Re: The show must go on

So why did you begin the discussion? If it goes on like this, the writers and readers will lose interest and the board will dry up like the shows do already.

And if you don't allow a discussion about the circumstances who lead to the death of Eskander, Michael Jackson or Farah Fawcett, you will never, never deliver any contributions at all for any solutions for prevention in the future.

Whatever 'happened', as that information is not in the public domain such discussion violates the forum 'private life' rule.

Consequently, I do do want to read any speculation else the topic will have to be closed.

Re: The show must go on

For several days I was away from my computer, but nevertheless, 'the news' reached me last Friday. The whole time I racked my brains how and what to write about that, but now I see that friend DB has beaten me. No, I could not do better than him. I can only repeat: R.I.P.

But allow me a little hint for B'bull: have a look at the statistics about the leading cause of death for younger people, and draw your own conclusions.

You will find plenty of references to Eskander.

If you do not wish to read, Eskander was an Arabic-speaking moderator who was first seen in front of the camera in early 2008 doing a little dance with the girls towards the end of (usually) the 2nd show of the day. Pretty annoying but then quite harmless stuff.

Then the channel had a no-brainer to include him full-time as an on-screen model as the Arabs liked to hear their own language spoken. Huh !!

The rest I will omit out of respect to his family at this time.

Re: The show must go on

Surely this is one of the most tragic months...Jackson, famous actress Fawcett,...one of my favourite actors Carradine and Eskander??? What hapenned??? First I thought he just left etv...Surely this like DB says has nothing to do with fact majority didnt like these shows, that were others idea, ...so I am just shocked from everything today...Rest in peace.

What happened? A severe disease or an accident?
