Re: News from the World

Milos Forman was truly one of the most outstanding European film directors in film history. Before he went to America to make films for the Western market he had great fame in his own right as an independent Czech film maker, he will be sorely missed.

A real shock today in the music world as Swedish DJ Avicii has died. Aged just 28. His sound was always truly recognisable as he had a collection of hits and I'm sure that more than once when I've had a few drinks that I've found myself chilling out to his music whilst in some darkened nightclub in the wee small hours. The cause of his death is yet unknown. Most of the recent deaths have come as no shock but this one certainly has.

Legendary 5 times world champions Eric Bristow is dead. A wonderful character in his day. Anybody who was a fan of Bullseye in the 80's and early 90's will recall his many appearances. Very much from the old school when drinking and smoking on the televised live matches were really the norm. A true character who lived each day to the fullest. Will be missed.

Climate chaos to continue in 2018, UN chief warns; Will the world rise to challenge? Climate change “is still
moving much faster than we are,” United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres warned on Thursday,

the UN chief told reporters at the world body’s New York Headquarters.

The Paris Agreement on climate change, adopted by world leaders in December 2015, aims
to keep global temperature rise to well below 2 degrees Celsius and pursues efforts to limit

Ant McPartlin Arrested - Charged With Drink Driving

Yet another celebrity caught in an act of shame. This could have been serious, thankfully no casualties, however this does not excuse in my opinion a despicable act of complete disregard for the safety and well being of the fellow law abiding drivers. Drink drivers to me deserve everything that comes their way and Ant McPartlin is no exception to this rule. He is widely seen a positive role model as one half of the duo who present Saturday Night Takeaway. Will ITV sack him over this I wonder.
